The Jock MKT Starter Kit: MLB Picks | July 23

How to Play

To begin, enter the MLB Daily Market when the Initial Public Offering (IPO) phase is underway. Leading up until the start of the first game, bid on players you are interested in acquiring on the open market. Is there a player who you consider a favorite to finish at the top of the rankings? Invest as much or as little as you want in their fantasy performance, with shares beginning at $1 and ranging all the way up to $25. See potential injury news that could open up an opportunity for another player to acquire fantasy points? Make speculative bids for shares of the backup, hoping for that news to break after the IPO phase is complete.

The next part of the game occurs during live trading. Unlike regular MLB DFS where your plays are locked in, you can buy and sell shares of players while the games are happening based on their production and where you could see them finishing amongst the field. Track as current points, projected points, and live price for each player is updated in real-time, allowing you to track the action and invest in an instant to account for news. Trading can be done all the way up until the final pitch of the night’s final game.

At the end of the games, each player share is paid out based on their final rankings of fantasy points amongst the field. If the shares you own are worth more than what you paid, you win money. For more information, check out the Jock MKT website.

Jock MKT MLB Picks Tonight

Trea Turner, SS, Washington Nationals

The thing about rostering Turner is he can get it done in a multitude of ways. If the power is not working, he can still get on base and steal bases. Whatever the case may be tonight, Turner should be successful against the Orioles and right-hander Jorge Lopez. Turner has hit safely in all six games since the All-Star break, and now he gets the added benefit of hitting in one of MLB’s best parks for offensive output. Turner also ranks right atop the overall rankings in Awesemo’s projections today.

Justin Upton, OF, Los Angeles Angels

Upton just returned to the Angels’ lineup last night after an injury kept him away for a month. It was not a ceremonious return, though, as he went 0-for-4 with a strikeout. Although, they always say that a player’s second game from a lengthy absence is the one to jump on board. There is no better time to do so considering Upton will likely get two or three at-bats against Twins lefty J.A. Happ. Happ has allowed 19 homers this season, including five over his last 18.1 innings of work.

Aristides Aquino, OF, Cincinnati Reds

For high risers on Jock MKT, look no further than Aquino, who will get more at-bats now with the injury to Nick Castellanos. The Cardinals have left-hander Wade LeBlanc on the mound tonight, giving Aquino the platoon advantage in a hitter’s paradise. He just put together three hits, including a home run, in two starts on Tuesday and Wednesday against the Mets. The Reds’ 5.3 implied team total is tied for the third highest on tonight’s main slate, so Aquino should get plenty of RBI opportunities batting out of the No. 6 hole.
