Top Pitchers
Framber Valdez ($10,200 DraftKings/$10,100 FanDuel) is the clear top pitching option tonight by a wide margin. Valdez has an excellent matchup against the Rangers, who have a 3.5 implied run total. Valdez has only struck out 22% of hitters this season, but he has an elite 69.2% ground-ball rate. While Valdez’s pedestrian strikeout rate keeps him from being a priority on many slates, there is virtually no opportunity cost at pitcher tonight.
Dietrich Enns ($6,200 DraftKings/$6,000 FanDuel) is expected to be the bulk reliever for the Rays tonight against Detroit. Enns has pitched 16 innings in six relief appearances for the Rays this season, striking out 28.4% of hitters. He also struck out 31.9% in 67.2 innings in Triple-A. Enns threw 59 pitches in his last appearance, and he should go to four innings tonight against Detroit.
Adonis Medina ($5,400 DraftKings/$5,500 FanDuel) is expected to be the Phillies’ primary reliever behind Cam Bedrosian. Medina only struck out 18.5% of hitters in 67.2 innings pitched at Triple-A this season, but he did pitch 5.1 innings in his most recent start, and he averaged about four innings per start overall. With the lack of pitching on this slate, Medina offers some value against a Cubs team that leads the league in strikeout rate.
