Main Slate

Philadelphia Phillies at RHP Hector Noesi – 5.3 implied runs

Marlins Park does indeed favor pitchers, though that alone will not help RHP Hector Noesi.  Through three starts he has allowed six dingers with a 9.39 ERA, 1.50 WHIP with 13 strikeouts in 15.1 innings.  Before this chance with Miami, Noesi has been in the Korean League.  His last big league action was in 2015 when he tallied just 32.2 innings with  6.89 ERA and 1.78 WHIP.

Look to the slumping Rhys Hoskins who is reasonably priced based on his lackluster production and the surging Bryce Harper as the two best plays.  Then we can fill out a full-stack with Corey Dickerson, J.T. Realmuto and Jean Segura.  Our differentiation options will be Cesar Hernandez, Scott Kinger, Adam Haseley and if in the lineup Logan Morrison.

Evening Slate

Houston Astros vs LHP Jose Suarez – 6.0 Implied Runs

Here we go again, but when they are against a weak lefty, ‘Stros is going to be spoken here.  LHP Jose Suarez has been struggling, reaching the fifth inning in only two of his last nine starts.  He should see 80-90 pitches, but that is only a bonus for Houston.  He has allowed four or more runs in each of his last four starts with six home runs and just 10 strikeouts across those 16.1 innings with a 9.91 ERA and a 2.081 WHIP.

Once again, I would like to start off with rookie Yordan Alvarez even in this lefty/lefty matchup and continue along with Alex Bregman, George Springer and Jose Altuve as our core four.  Then for differentiation we can consider Josh Reddick, Robinson Chirinos and Abraham Toro for some salary relief (the degree varies by site).

Late Slate

Seattle Mariners vs RHP Trent Thornton – 4.7 implied runs

The pitching in the late game set is actually solid with the only question marks being LHP Justus Sheffield for the Mariners who has been solid in the minors and is one of their better prospects who is getting a start for LHP Yusei Kikuchi who is having his turn skipped as part of an innings limit exercise.

It is my hope that less people target against rookie RHP Trent Thornton who is susceptible to left-handed batsmen. On the season he is allowing a .342 wOBA and a .217 ISO.  Though they have been pretty much been laid bare by injuries (Ryon Healy, Domingo Santana, Mitch Haniger) and trades (offseason: Robinson Cano, Jean Segura in-season: Edwin Encarnacion, Jay Bruce) they still have some decent hitters.

Look for lefties with power beginning with Daniel Vogelbach, Omar Narvaez and J.P Crawford. It is a reach, but Kyle Seager is hitting home runs at the highest rate of his career and Tom Murphy has been on one heck of a heater.  The prices are particularly low for most of the Mariners on Yahoo and using them will really open things up.
