Main Slate
This should be a wild tournament environment on Tuesday with every team in action. We have some top-shelf pitchers and a game in Coors Field with a 14.0 implied run total. Oh yeah, four of the top six pitchers for home runs allowed are also taking the bump for their teams. Mike Leak 34, Justin Verlander 33, Yusei Kikuchi 31 and Yu Darvish 30 for those wondering.
Washington Nationals vs. RHP Aaron Brooks – 6.2 implied runs
The Nationals are firing on all cylinders winning 14 of their last 16 games and are averaging 7.56 runs per game during that stretch. They will be facing RHP Aaron Brooks who has allowed eight home runs in his last five starts and has a woeful 6.21 ERA on the season.
Brooks has been hit hard since the beginning of last season with a 2.1 HR/9 and .255+ ISO to both lefties and righties. Focus on anyone with power first with Anthony Rendon, Juan Soto and Matt Adams leading the way. Then round things out with Trea Turner, Adam Eaton, Victor Robles and the catcher.
Evening Slate
Boston Red Sox at Colorado Rockies – 14.0 implied runs
While the Rockies have not yet announced a pitcher, we know that it will not be RHPs German Marquez or Jon Gray. Any BoSox batter in the lineup is in play on Tuesday night.
Colorado will be facing RHP Rick Porcello who after this game will likely have allowed the second most home runs in a single season for his career. The strikeouts are down and the power allowed is up and he is relatively splits neutral so targeting him with the usual suspects is a good start.
Late Slate
New York Yankees at LHP Yusei Kikuchi – 5.5 implied runs
In his last appearance I was HEAVY against LHP Yusei Kikuchi and he pitched a complete game shutout on 96 pitches in Toronto. Sometimes “baseball” happens. The Mariners skipped his last start as they want the former Japanese leaguer on an inning limit, but do not forget that he has allowed the third most runs in the league this season. He has allowed a 2.4 HR/9 with a .259 ISO to lefties and a 1.98 HR/9 and .238 ISO to righties. Even though the Yankees have a veritable all-star team on their injured list, they are still formidable with a host of right-handed power. Aaron Judge, Gleyber Torres, Gary Sanchez, Giovanny Urshela and D.J LeMaieu are the cornerstones of our stacks.
