Early Slate

New York Mets at RHP Anthony DeSclafani – 5.5 implied runs

Over the last couple of seasons targeting RHP Anthony DeSclafani with batters swinging the stick from the left-side of the plate has been a solid idea.  This is particularly true for his home starts in the Great American Ballpark.  This year DeSclafani has allowed lefties a .345 wOBA and a .229 ISO.  While still bad, it is an improvement over last season’s .378 wOBA / .288 ISO.

Look to Michael Conforto, Jeff McNeil and Robinson Cano as the trio to target.  Add in Brandon Nimmo and of course rookie slugging sensation Pete Alonso for a full-stack.

Afternoon Slate

Washington Nationals at Miami Marlins – 5.0 implied runs

The Nationals are fighting to keep their spot in the Wild Card picture ahead of whichever NL Central team does not win their division.  This is a nice matchup against RHP Jordan Yamamoto (forearm) who is coming off of the injured list.  The rookie righty has struggled after skipping Triple-A and coming straight into the Marlins rotation.  Over his last seven starts he has an 8.13 ERA with eleven home runs allowed though he does have 39 strikeouts in those 39.1 innings.

Look to the Washington batsmen from either side of the plate with Anthony Rendon, Juan Soto, Trea Turner and Howie Kendrick as the core four.  Asdrubal Cabrera and Victor Robles can be employed for differentiation.

Main Slate

Minnesota Twins vs. RHP Glenn Sparkman – 6.9 implied runs

This is shaping up to be a short outing for RHP Glenn Sparkman as he will be facing Minnesota for the fourth time  He has pitched 127.0 innings with a 6.02 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, 29 home runs and just 73 strikeouts.  He has allowed a 1.99 HR/9 to lefties and a 1.50 HR/9 to righties.

Tail Awesemo's Sports Betting Picks Today!

Nelson Cruz, Mitch Garver, Miguel Sano and Jake Cave are the power bats to target.  If Max Keller or C.J. Cron make the lineup after their respective layoffs, they are fine for tournaments.  Jason Castro and Johnathan Schoop are fine differentiation plays from the bottom of the lineup.

Late Slate

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. RHP Chi Chi Gonzalez – 5.9 implied runs

This season has been a disaster for RHP Chi Chi Gonzalez who has produced a 6.14 xFIP with a 12.7 BB% and just a 13.5 K%.  This has led to a 1.62 WHIP and the 32 punchouts in 52.1 innings have not helped his cause.

Much like last Friday we can look to Cody Bellinger, Joc Pederson and Max Muncy for starters.  A.J. Pollock and Corey Seager are definitely in the mix as wellWill Smith is a solid option where we need to roster catchers.  Justin Turner may be back from injury and Gavin Lux or whomever else makes the lineup in the infield is a differentiation option.
