Up first is San Diego pitcher Chris Paddack. His last two starts have not been quite as sound as normal, and his strikeout totals have dipped tremendously. To round out this Monkey Knife Fight MLB contest, Patrick Corbin has a line of 4.5 strikeouts. Despite struggling throughout the first half of the season, Corbin has cleared this number in three of his last four starts. Can he do so again tonight against a star-studded Padres lineup? Although this line is lower than others in the betting market, the best option is to go under.
Star Shootout ‘Home Run Derby’ Contest (2x Buy-In or More)
This contest has users pick three players from across all four late-night games on Wednesday’s slate. The three must combine to hit at least one home run to win. Needless to say, there are several good options worth considering to fill out this lineup.
To start, be sure to include Paul Goldschmidt. After knocking two hits in yesterday’s contest, Goldschmidt enters tonight’s matchup riding a seven-game hitting streak. He has had plenty of power in the past when matched up against Giants starter Alex Wood. In 30 prior at-bats, Goldschmidt has taken Wood deep four times. That kind of track record cannot be ignored when making MLB fantasy picks.
Aaron Judge has also put together a two-hit effort last night. He also has crushed three home runs over his last seven games. While he has only faced Mariners starter Yusei Kikuchi three times prior to this evening, Judge does have a homer off of him.
Manny Machado rounds out picks for this content. His bat might be the hottest of all three players in the lineup following his three-hit effort last night. Machado has eight total hits over the last six games and has three homers in the last four. He counts a home run among his three previous hits off of Corbin, whose season-long struggles were mentioned above. This lineup certainly has as good a shot as any to put one over the fence tonight.
