The following FREE MLB DFS picks for fantasy baseball lineups are based on Awesemo’s MLB Projections for today’s MLB DFS fantasy baseball slate on DraftKings. Top MLB DFS Value Plays

Clayton Kershaw – Dodgers vs. Giants – FanDuel $10,600, DraftKings $10,300

Kershaw was solid in his first start, going 5.2 innings against the Diamondbacks while striking out six and picking up the win. He will be stretched out even more in his second start back and I wouldn’t be shocked to see him close to 95 pitches here. The Giants are one of the league’s worst offenses and they’re worse against left-handed pitching.

So far in 2020, San Fran has been better than expected, but that won’t last for long. This lineup is full of heavy-strikeout bats and they don’t offer much power upside in Dodgers Park. The Giants hold the slates lowest total at 2.75 and the Dodgers are huge -240 favorites. He’s the most expensive option on the slate, but safety is worth paying up for at starting pitcher.

Chris Paddack – Padres vs. Diamondbacks – FanDuel $9,100, DraftKings $7,900

The Diamondbacks have been disastrous to start the season, ranking 27th against right-handed pitchers through the first couple of weeks. They’ve struck out 23% of the time and it’s no surprise as the lineup is littered with high-K, low -.OBP bats. Paddack has been efficient in each of his starts and will look to finally reach the seventh inning.

Paddack has gone five-plus innings in each of his first three starts and looked best against the Dodgers in his last one. He’s only walked one batter through three starts and his command has been better than ever. Paddack offers a solid discount off of Kershaw and a similar ceiling. He strikes out 10 batters per nine innings and is safe with the recent bullseye command. I’ll surely be over the field in tournaments and recommend you do the same.

Patrick Sandoval – Angels @ Rangers – FanDuel $5,600, DraftKings $6,900

Sandoval is super cheap across the industry and Awesemo projects him as the top value pitcher on the slate. He’s a big prospect with elite strikeout material and the start to his season has been solid. He doesn’t have an incredibly long leash, but could certainly see 85 pitches if all goes to plan and the matchup against Texas is a great one. They struck out 24% of the time against lefties in 2019 and ranked 25th in team wOBA. The order relies on power and fails to string together hits. Sandoval has a great shot to return value at his price and the ownership won’t be over 15% on either site.

Top GPP Target

Merrill Kelly – Diamondbacks @ Padres – FanDuel $8,500, DraftKings $10,000

Merrill Kelly constantly flies under the radar, but he strikes out over a batter per inning and is allowed to go 100 or so pitches. He’s not favored tonight against the Padres, but the ballpark is extremely friendly and they aren’t huge underdogs. The Padres are a right-handed heavy lineup and rely on power to drive in runs.

Kelly allowed just over a home run per nine in 2019 and this ballpark will only help the cause. I love Kelly in tournaments tonight as he’ll go overlooked and has a huge ceiling. I wouldn’t go anywhere near him in cash with Kershaw and Paddack priced similarly and in a lot safer spots.
