The Takedown: MMA DFS Picks for DraftKings + FanDuel UFC Vegas 32 Sandhagen vs. Dillashaw | Tonight, 7/24

Welcome to The Takedown, UFC fans. Today we are back at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. This card has some solid value, with the main event between Cory Sandhagen vs. TJ Dillashaw. Here I offer some of my favorite MMA DFS picks for DraftKings and FanDuel UFC lineups with the help of Awesemo’s expert UFC DFS ownership and projections. So, let’s dig into some MMA DFS picks and analysis for UFC Vegas 32.

UFC Vegas 32: Sandhagen  vs. Dillashaw MMA DFS Picks

Top-End Picks

Cory Sandhagen | DraftKings: $8,800, FanDuel: $22

Sandhagen is a high-volume striker with a solid wrestling game. He averages 6.92 significant strikes per minute while only absorbing 2.6. The one weakness Sandhagen will be facing against T.J. Dillashaw is his poor takedown defense, which is a concerning 30%. However, I expect Sandhagen will have a clear advantage on the feet with his elite striking and huge power. At $8,800, Sandhagen is a solid way to start your DFS lineups. Awesemo’s UFC DFS DraftKings and FanDuel Projections give Sandhagen 64% win odds with a 42%chance for a knockout.

Mid-Range Picks

Jordan Williams | DraftKings: $8,700, FanDuel: $21

Williams will be making the drop to welterweight after previously competing at middleweight. This is a nice opportunity for Williams, as he is taking on a relatively big name in Mickey Gall. Williams moved from California to Colorado, and training at Factory x Muay Thai should play a huge role in his performance in this bout. I expect Williams will have a big advantage on the feet. Williams should be able to keep this fight standing with his solid 88% takedown defense. Furthermore, Williams getting a knockout over Gall could happen here, even though Gall has never been knocked out. Awesemo’s UFC DFS projections give Williams 61% win odds with a 34% chance for a knockout.

Punahele Soriano | DraftKings: $8,200, FanDuel: $16

Soriano dominated his bouts against Oskar Piechota and Dusko Todorovic with first-round knockouts. He has a wrestling background but relies on his striking with devastating power. If Soriano can avoid Allen’s takedowns and submission attempts, I expect Soriano to leave the octagon with another knockout victory. At $8,200, Soriano is a solid play for DFS purposes and could break the slate with a first-round finish. Awesemo’s UFC DFS projections give 52% win odds with a 39% chance for a knockout.

Value Picks

Maycee Barber| DraftKings: $7,800, FanDuel: $12

Barber is an aggressive fighter that will push the pace and walk her opponents down. She will throw big shots with solid power in her hands. I expect Barber will be extremely motivated to get back in the win column. This is a risky value play due to Barber’s past performances. However, if Barber is aggressive, she can easily break Miranda Maverick’s rhythm by closing the distance and enforcing her will. Awesemo’s UFC DFS projections give 41% win odds.
