UFC Vegas 46: Kattar vs Chikadze | DraftKings & FanDuel MMA DFS Picks

Top-End Picks

Giga Chikadze | DraftKings: $9,300, FanDuel: $22

Chikadze is a well-rounded fighter with a dangerous kickboxing game. He found his groove last year finishing high-level opponents, with impressive knockouts over Edson Barboza and Cub Swanson. However, Calvin Kattar dose not get finished though and his toughness has been tested by high-level opponents. That said, Kattar’s fight with Max Holloway could have possibly affected him and his ability to take damage. I expect Chikadze to push the pace and use his kickboxing to keep Kattar off balance and out of rhythm. For DFS, Chikadze is strong play in all formats. Awesemo’s projections give Chikadze 69% win odds with a 47% chance for a knockout.

Viacheslav Borshchev | DraftKings: $9,000, FanDuel: $20

Borshchev is a former K-1 fighter, his kickboxing is solid, and his front kicks are nasty and will keep his opponents at range. That said, Borshchev weakness is his takedown defense at only 33%, which gives his opponents a big advantage if they can get in tight. However, Borshchev is training at Team Alpha Male, which happens to be one of the best wrestling gyms in the country. So, we could see some big improvements in his grappling game. Borshchev is a solid striker and will be looking to knock his opponent out, four of his five wins have come via knockout. For DFS, Borshchev is a risky play at his high price point, however he could pay off nicely with an early finish. Awesemo’s projections give Borshchev 64% win odds with a 44% chance for a knockout.

Mid-Priced Picks

Brandon Royval | DraftKings: $8,800, FanDuel: $19

Royval is a well-rounded fighter, but his bread and butter is his exciting and dynamic grappling game. He is always looking to threaten his opponents limbs or the neck and lock in a submission. Royval pace is exhausting for his opponents, always looking to bring heavy pressure, and never letting his opponents breath or reset. On the feet, Royval has solid boxing, and his aggressive style can cause big problems for his opponents in the octagon. For DFS, Royval’s volume and takedowns can score well, which makes him a strong play. Awesemo’s projections give Royval 61% win odds with a 47% chance for a knockout.

Value Picks

Brian Kelleher | DraftKings: $7,500, FanDuel: $23

Kelleher is a dangerous fighter, with a dangerous ground game and fire in his hands. His ground game is nasty, and he is always looking to lock in a guillotine choke, which he is best known for. Kelleher has one punch knockout power, he is heavy-handed and can shut anyone’s lights out in a hurry. He is extremely durable and can absorb punishment as well as he dishes it out. For DFS, Kelleher is a strong play due to his finishing abilities and could pay off his price tag nicely. Awesemo’s projections give Kelleher 73% win odds with a 40% chance for a knockout.

T.J. Brown | DraftKings: $7,100, FanDuel: $21

Brown snapped a two-fight skid with a split-decision win over Kai Kamaka in May. This was Brown’s first official win in the UFC. Brown specializes in the ground game and has found success, with 62% of his victories have come via submissions. He has solid striking and the power to put anyone’s lights out in a hurry. That said, Brown has struggled since making his UFC debut, but this should be a good fight for Brown to get back on track. For DFS, Brown is a solid play in all formats, due to his finishing abilities and low-price tag. Awesemo’s projections give Brown 71% win odds with a 37% chance for a knockout.
