Goodyear 400 NASCAR DFS Tournament & GPP Picks | DraftKings & FanDuel Fantasy Racing

NASCAR heads down to the Carolina’s this weekend to tango with the Lady in the Black in Darlington for it’s first of two races here at the historic track. Not only is the racing usually solid here, we have plentiful throwback paint schemes to gawk at on Sunday. Qualifying on Saturday presented us an interesting DFS slate with several big name drivers starting in the back of the pack, meaning we have several different strategies we can approach this slate with. With Joey Logano leading us to the green on Sunday, let’s dive into some of the best NASCAR DFS picks today for tournaments.

NASCAR DFS GPP Picks Today: Darlington Raceway

While Darlington isn’t necessarily a short track, it’s also not quite a mile and a half either leaving it an awkward stage right in the middle. It’s a fairly unique track that produces a ton of tire wear, so drivers that are able to manage their tires will be the ones up front near the end. There isn’t 400 laps to be ran this week unlike last, but we still have nearly 300 laps, meaning dominator points will be important this weekend.

Top Driver Picks & Projections

Ross Chastain $9,700 DK / $11,500 FD (8th)

Hoping the price bump will keep his ownership in check, but betting against Chastain this year has not been a path to success as he is getting it done at every single track type. No one is averaging more fantasy points per race right now and should be viewed as an upper echelon tier driver to not be scared off of the steep price point. The high line will play to Chastain’s talent on Sunday and he had a strong showing in practice as well. Look for Chastain to be a potential dominator or a secondary dominator in your lineups.

Tyler Reddick $9,000 DK / $8,800 FD (10th)

Tyler Reddick has been fast at most tracks this year, and Darlington plays to his strengths. He loves riding near the wall and that is the best way to get around Darlington. Though Reddick carries a risk of clipping the wall, I’m willing to gamble with his potential race-winning upside. Reddick was also one of the strongest cars in practice during Saturday’s session.

Kurt Busch $7,300 DK / $8,000 FD (6th)

There is a bit of risk here with the high starting spot, but Kurt Busch was 4th in the long run portion of practice and has an excellent career track record at the Lady in the Black. I don’t like making too many references to track history with the next-gen car, but with this being a unique track, it is something worth mentioning. This is also a cheap price point for a driver like Kurt who gives us top–ten upside.

Austin Cindric $7,100 DK / $6,200 FD (19th)

It has been hard rostering Cindric most weeks this year, but he and his Penske teammates showed a lot of speed on Saturday and that carries over on Sunday, this is a great price point on a driver who was a top-five car in practice. He also finished top-12 at Autoclub earlier in the season, which is another high tire wear track.

Chris Buescher $6,900 DK / $6,800 (18th)

RFK has shown some speed as of late and Buescher profiles well here at Darlington. He finished P9 in both races here last year and was also able to grab a top-10 at Dover last weekend, which should show us some comparability heading into this weekend.

Daniel Hemric $6,100 DK / $2,500 FD (24th)

This is mostly a FanDuel recommendation as they seemed to have priced Hemric like he is in a bottom tier car/equipment. While Kaulig isn’t an elite team, they are certainly capable of contending for top-15s and Hemric was able to finish top-10 at Autoclub earlier in the season.
