Best NASCAR COTA DFS Tournament & GPP Picks | DraftKings & FanDuel Fantasy Racing

After a wild weekend at Atlanta last week, NASCAR heads to the lone star state to tackle NASCAR at COTA for the first of many road course races this season. This will be a change of pace compared to what we have seen so far this season, so understanding how to approach a road course NASCAR fantasy slate will be important when building tournament lineups on Sunday. With the starting grid set for today’s EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix, let’s dive into some of the best NASCAR DFS picks today for tournaments and GPPS to help us gain leverage on the field and climb the leaderboards on Sunday!

NASCAR DFS GPP Picks Today: NASCAR COTA

Road courses present a completely different style of racing in the NASCAR Cup Series compared to the normal oval tracks we typically see. Drivers will be forced to make left and right turns on Sunday as well as harsh braking and navigating their way through 20 turns around the three-mile track. With that being said, some drivers are much better than others at these tracks and we typically see them rise to the top by the end of the race. With the lack of total laps on Sunday, dominator points will not be a key focal point in DraftKings NASCAR lineups this weekend, turning your attention to drivers with place differential and strong finishing position upside will be the optimal way to build.

Top Driver Picks & Projections

Kyle Busch $10,200 DraftKings/$12,500 FanDuel (15th)

Busch got priced in between and by some of the projected highest-owned drivers on the NASCAR fantasy slate making him a very appealing leverage play in tournaments. He has been excellent at the more technical road courses over the course of his career and he also put up the fastest lap in practice. This starting spot offers us place differential upside, and he could very well contend for the win at the end.

Austin Cindric $9,500 DraftKings/$11,000 FanDuel (10th)

It might not feel great paying this much for a rookie who normally isn’t priced this high, but Cindric is an elite road course racer and these ringers tend to find their way towards the front the majority of the time. He’s a several time Xfinity winner at these track types and was leading a race in the cup series before a mechanical failure killed his day. Being priced right in between Truex and Byron will help him stay under the radar.

Mid-Range Driver Picks & Projections

Ross Chastain $8,200 DraftKings/$9,200 FanDuel (16th)

It has been a hot start to the season for Chastain as he has now appeared in the optimal lineup for three straight races. He was fast in practice and the speed he’s had with Trackhouse this season should continue this weekend as he was also strong at road courses last season as well. He doesn’t start far enough back to make him an elite place-differential play, and if a lot of players end up going stars and scrubs … he may not find as many builds as he should with his upside. He’s one of the best NASCAR DFS picks on the entire slate for GPPs and tournaments.

Kurt Busch $7,800 DraftKings/$7,800 FanDuel (11th)

Kurt is never that exciting of a play, but sometimes that’s not the worst thing to have in your lineups. He has overall been very consistent this season and is fifth in the points standings after five weeks. Busch is a seasoned vet with plenty of cup experience at road courses and also has the 2nd best average finish overall only behind Chase Elliott at them. He doesn’t offer a lot of place differential upside with this starting spot, so it’s mainly a bet on a top 5-10 finish, which he is certainly capable of.

NASCAR Driver Value Picks & Projection

Kaz Grala $5,900 DraftKings/$4,500 FanDuel (31st)

With the amount of good place differential plays, it seems like Grala will end up getting overlooked as a non cup regular. He wheeled his way top a top 10 finish in his only cup start at a road course when he filled in for Austin Dillon years back.

Joey Hand $5,000 DraftKings/$2,000 FanDuel (38th)

Rick Ware car so temper expectations, but equipment isn’t a huge deal at road course compared to others. He posted a p14 in practice, which at the very least gives a glimmer of hope for his potential on Sunday. Starting in the very back also helps boost the floor.
