Building Blocks: NBA DFS Picks And Values for DraftKings + FanDuel | 10/11

The NBA Finals are underway, and there is NBA DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel. Greg Ehrenberg looks at some NBA DFS Picks to build around for the Sunday, Oct. 11 NBA Finals Game 6 slate.

NBA DFS Picks: Value + Stud for NBA Finals Game 6 | Oct. 11

Value NBA DFS Pick: Kendrick Nunn

DraftKings $5,400, FanDuel $8,000

Value plays were a disaster in Game 5. Markieff Morris was the chalk of the cheap plays, and he was so bad that he scored negative fantasy points. In hindsight, we would have gotten better production from Morris if he was a late scratch. Typically, we have seen Morris and Dwight Howard trade minutes, but neither were good last game, and I worry that the late-game blunders by Morris could cost him playing time tonight.

At least with Nunn, we know he’s going to play 20-28 minutes and take shots when he’s on the court. He has a usage rating close to 20% during the Finals and has at least 24 DraftKings points in three of five games. Ownership is a concern, but I have more confidence in Nunn than I have in any of the Lakers’ cheap players. Goran Dragic is once again doubtful, and the Heat need Nunn to play a sizable role assuming Dragic misses another game.

Stud NBA DFS Pick: LeBron James

DraftKings $12,600, FanDuel $16,000

Both LeBron and Jimmy Butler were terrific last game. They are pretty clearly the top two options on the high end in terms of how I project them. The reason I lean towards James is because of the health of Anthony Davis. Even though Davis is likely going to play, he didn’t look right in the second half of Game 5. He enters today listed probable on the injury report because of a heel contusion. With Davis a bit hampered, we saw LeBron play his largest role of the series. He played 42 minutes in an effort to end the season and scored 75.25 DraftKings points. I expect James to play a couple more minutes with a bit more usage than we have seen in the rest of the series since this Game 6.

Contrarian NBA DFS Pick: Bam Adebayo

DraftKings $9.600, FanDuel $13,000

On a slate that figures to feature a ton of chalk, rostering Adebayo is one of the easiest ways to find upside while deviating a bit from the field. It stands to reason that he will have the least ownership on the four All-Stars in this game. The risk here is that Adebayo hasn’t looked like himself coming back from a neck injury. After leaving Game 1 early and then missing Games 2 and 3, Adebayo returned with back-to-back games of under 30 fantasy points. These games should prevent most people from rostering Adebayo. While it’s not a play I am totally comfortable with, going contrarian rarely is. Don’t forget that Adebayo was actually the Heat’s top fantasy performer in the playoffs until the Finals.
