Looking at previous All-Star game box scores, we can learn a lot. The biggest difference is that players rarely block shots; in 2017 and 2016 there were only two blocks in the entire game! Thus, I think that guys who usually get a lot like Anthony Davis and Joel Embiid who rack up tons of blocks during a normal game will be relatively worse in the ASG compared to their regular performance.
Stephen Curry (9800 DK, 13000 FD) – Curry already plays on an All-Star team during the regular season, so I expect his production to decrease less relatively compared to other superstars! His specialty has always been long range shots, and against lazy ASG defense, he’s likely to make them at a much higher clip than the regular season. Being the captain of his team and the point guard, I expect him to have motive and opportunity to have a monster game tonight!
Joel Embiid (8000 DK, 12500 FD) – Embiid is completely underpriced on DraftKings; I think that he will get starter minutes and he’s the cheapest one, but the usage might be low along Harden, Curry, and Antetokounmpo. That being said, he’s worth the risk because of the great opportunity for his price. On FanDuel, I’ll still have him in lineups, but not as one of my top plays.
