How do you pronounce Ntilikina, and the Other Slam Dunks of Saturday 4/7

Alex Baker

These Slam Dunk picks come directly from the lineups of the #1 player in DFS, Awesemo. Follow him on Twitter for more.

Nikola Mirotic
FD: $5600 | Fpts: B | Value: A
DK: $5100 | Fpts: C | Value: A

Coming off of a huge 55+ fantasy-point game on both sites, Mirotic’s price actually went down on DK by $300 and went up only $100 on FD.  Mirotic has always been a gifted offensive player but he’s struggled with consistent minutes since arriving in New Orleans.  He’s recently, however, been moved to a starting role and has therefore received more predictable minutes.  There’s no reason why he shouldn’t remain in the starting lineup tonight versus Golden State and their small-ball lineups.

Frank Ntilikina
FD: $3700 | Fpts: D | Value: A
DK: $3600 | Fpts: C | Value: A

Mudiay, Hardaway and Kanter are all either ruled out or unlikely to play and Beasley remains 50/50.   That leaves most of the Knicks offensive firepower and a ton of regular minutes in street clothes.  Ntilikina has seen his minutes tick up significantly over the past week, and with the Knicks in talent-evaluation mode (how many creative ways are there to say “tanking”) there’s no reason for them to hold their first-round pick back.  As a starter expected to see close to 30 minutes, his price on both sites puts him near must-play status.

Trey Burke (FD only)
DK: $6900 | Fpts: B | Value: B

For many of the same reasons as Ntilikina, Trey Burke deserves your attention.  The key differences between the two are: (1) Burke can actually play; BUT (2) he’s fully priced on DraftKings, so he’s a Slam Dunk on FanDuel only.  With a Knicks team depleted on offense, Trey Burke has proven he can carry the load, as evidenced by a 50+ and a 60+ fantasy-point game in his last five.  Burke becomes an especially good play if Beasley sits, because then there will be no question about who the Knicks’ first option on offense will be.

D’Angelo Russell (DK only)
DK: $6100 | Fpts: B | Value: A

DK’s more dynamic pricing often works against us, like we just saw with Burke, but there are also instances where we benefit from their hasty adjustments, as in the case of the cold-shooting Russell.   No one really knows what goes into their pricing algorithm but 37% shooting in the last 4 games with a 5.75 fantasy point game in there certainly can’t help.  As a result, his price has fallen almost 20% over the past week to $6100.   Nevertheless, given his long term trends–most notably his 31% usage on the season–that price is far too low.
