Below are three of the best Jock MKT NBA Picks for Thursday, April 8th, based on the expert projections from No. 1 DFS player in the world Alex “Awesemo” Baker.

The Jock MKT Starter Kit: NBA Picks | April 8

How to Play at Jock MKT

To begin, enter the NBA Daily Market when the Initial Public Offering (IPO) phase is under way. Leading up until the start of the first game, bid up on players you are interested in acquiring on the open market. Is there a player who you consider a favorite to finish at the top of the rankings? Invest as much or as little as you want in their fantasy performance, with shares beginning at $1 and ranging all the way up to $25. See potential injury news that could open up an opportunity for another player to acquire fantasy points? Make speculative bids for shares of the back-up, hoping for that news to break after the IPO phase is complete.

The next part of the game occurs during live trading. Unlike regular NBA DFS where your plays are locked in, you can buy and sell shares of players while the games are happening based on their production and where you could see them finishing amongst the field. Track as current points, projected points, and live price for each player is updated in real time, allowing you to track the action and invest in an instant to account for news. Trading can be done all the way up until the final buzzer of the night’s final game.

At the end of the games, each player share is paid out based on their final rankings of fantasy points amongst the field. If the shares you own are worth more than what you paid, you win money. It’s as simple as that! For more information, check out the Jock MKT website.

Strategy Session: Questionable Big Men

For Thursday night’s seven-game slate, there are two injury situations we should be monitoring closely. First is the status of Kristaps Porzingis. He returned to the lineup last night after a two-game absence due to a wrist injury, but Porzingis has sat out the second night of his last five back-to-back sets. Even though Porzingis gained rest by missing the two previous contests before Wednesday night, Rick Carlisle will likely stick to their usual plan and sit Porzingis Thursday night. If this ends up being the case, Jalen Brunson will be a nice value to consider. In the last three games Porzingis has missed, Brunson has been a big spark of the bench for the Mavericks, chipping in with 27.3 Jock points per game. Brunson’s usage rate increases 2% with Porzingis off the floor this season, and in general Brunson has seen a very stable role as Dallas’ sixth man recently, logging over 25 minutes in eight of his last 10 appearances. Quite honestly, Brunson has a decent shot at beating his 21.14-point Jock projection against the fast-paced Bucks tonight (fourth in pace) even if Porzingis is active. So the best way to handle this situation is to purchase some early shares of Brunson before news about Porzingis is released to take advantage of the discounted price.

The next questionable player to be keeping an eye on is Jusuf Nurkic (knee). He missed Tuesday night’s win over the Clippers but has a chance of returning tonight against the Jazz. In the scenario that they give Nurkic another day to heal his inflamed knee, C.J. McCollum would be an interesting option that many may avoid against the stout Utah defense. McCollum posted 38.25 Jock points Tuesday with Nurkic sidelined and has appeared to be fully healthy after missing most of the first half of the season with a foot injury, producing 38.1 Jock points per game in his last seven. Utah is a top-five defense in terms of efficiency, but this is the second leg of a back-to-back for them, and Vegas is giving this Western Conference matchup a large 231-point total. Just like with Brunson, McCollum is an appealing target regardless of the status his teammate, and he would see a solid boost if Nurkic was unavailable.

Jock MKT NBA Picks for Tonight

Jrue Holiday

Giannis Antetokounmpo (doubtful, knee) isn’t expected to play tonight, putting a bigger weight on Holiday’s shoulders. When Giannis has been off the court, Holiday’s usage has seen a 6.6% spike, and his assist rate has skyrocketed 12.3% — good for a team-high 35.6%. In the last three games the guard has been active for sans Antetokounmpo, he has led the Bucks with a huge 51.9 Jock points per game.

With the expanded workload, Holiday is a real threat to finish in the top three in Jock points scored Thursday night.

Malachi Flynn

Flynn has been tremendous for the Raptors with Kyle Lowry (foot) and Fred VanVleet (hip) injured. Lowry has missed each of the last three, and VanVleet got hurt after playing 19 minutes of the first tilt of this stretch. In result, Flynn has provided 33.25 Jock points per game in 32.3 minutes per game. Both Lowry and VanVleet have been confirmed out again for Thursday, but Flynn’s Jock MKT projection is only at 25.67 fantasy points against a Bulls team that rates as the eighth-weakest defense in the league over their last 10.

Just like he has in these last three, Flynn should destroy this projection and end the night as one of the best values on the slate.

Hamidou Diallo

Diallo is a nice sleeper to peruse in the IPO that shouldn’t be pricey. Coming off a mediocre 10.25 Jock points against the Nuggets on Tuesday, very few will be clicking on his name this evening. Given that this was the first time since joining the Pistons that Diallo has played in the second half of a back-to-back, his low score Tuesday was predictable. Now, with no game last night or tomorrow, Diallo should be off his leash and ready to flourish against the Kings, who rank dead last in defensive efficiency. Plus, he should gain some extra usage with Jerami Grant (knee) out of the lineup.

In three of his first six tilts as a Piston, Diallo has gone off for 39.5, 35.75 and 28 Jock points, easily beating his Jock projection on all three occasions. This is the type of upside he brings to the table when he isn’t limited, and Diallo’s possible return on investment is immense in this gorgeous matchup with Sacramento. Look for him to eclipse his 23.37-point projection in tonight’s matchup.
