In NBA DFS and daily fantasy basketball as a whole, it is not as simple as rostering the best play appears to be. Gamers have to consider the odds each player has of going off or busting. NBA DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates

Christian Wood vs. Warriors: $8,700/$8,700

29.9% DraftKings Boom/42.4% FanDuel Boom

John Wall is out the rest of the season, which means Wood is the top dog yet again. He has been filling up the stat sheet, adding five and four assists over the past two games, respectively. Of course, he is also always in at least 20-point double-double territory. Wood is going to have a high usage against a Warriors team that is much weaker when they are on the road. He’s currently Awesemo’s No. 6 player in the NBA DFS projections at 48.13 points tonight. Him hitting value feels pretty safe, and he could be a “boom” play if the defensive stats also stack up.

Kevin Porter Jr. vs. Warriors: $7,400/$6,100

27.4% DraftKings Boom/59.9% FanDuel Boom

Again, no Wall, which means Porter Jr. will garner a high usage rate. He is coming off a 50-point double-double, yet his price is still moderate, especially over on FanDuel. DraftKings at least forces you to think about playing Porter, but he is a lock on FanDuel, due to his price – and the Awesemo NBA DFS projections have him slated as the top value play of the night on FanDuel. Porter had 25 points with seven assists against the Warriors in mid-March. A performance similar to that is expected, which would easily be a NBA fantasy “boom” on FanDuel.

Mo Bamba vs. Grizzlies: $5,000/$5,700

32.8% DraftKings Boom/31.9% FanDuel Boom

Bamba’s minutes have been steady, with him seeing the floor between 23-27 minutes in four of his past five games. The results are also steady, with three of those four games being close to “boom” performances. Seeing 20-plus minutes has typically led to double-digit points, multiple blocks and seven-plus rebounds. Putting it all together would mean Bamba easily hits value and trends close to a “booming” day, and with his current NBA DFS ownership projection at less than 10%, he could help differentiate your lineups as well.

NBA DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates

Paul George vs. Nuggets: $10,000/$9,400

80.4% DraftKings Bust/59.7% FanDuel Bust

Kawhi Leonard is currently listed as questionable. If he is back, George should not be touched at all at his current price. But even if Leonard is out again, George is a bit too pricey. His shooting percentage has been tough and he is turning the ball over at a high rate. George has been held under 50 NBA fantasy points in back-to-back games and he has struggled against Denver in each of the past three matchups with them. There is little reason to play George today.
