With only five games on the main slate for NBA fantasy tonight, it’ll be more of a laid-back slate, while most people focus their energy on football. While there are only a few games, there appears to be a decent amount of injury news. Star point guard Damian Lillard has been ruled out for tonight with an abdominal injury. Clearly, this points to a massive performance from C.J. McCollum. With Lillard off the floor this season, McCollum has seen a 4.6% usage bump, raising him to a team-high 31.9% usage. He averages well over an NBA fantasy point per minute in this scenario, and we should expect to see him do a lot with the ball in his hands tonight. The Awesemo Boom/Bust Tool gives McCollum a floor of around 35 NBA fantasy points tonight but a ceiling of over 48.

Anfernee Simons: $3,500 DraftKings/$4,200 FanDuel | 60.2% DraftKings Boom/37.4% FanDuel Boom

The Awesemo Boom/Bust Tool gives Anfernee Simons the highest “boom” percentage on DraftKings, where he is a nice $700 discount from his FanDuel pricing. While McCollum leads the way in usage without Lillard, Simons isn’t far behind, at 24.9%. Awesemo’s Projections expect Simons to play 32.5 minutes tonight, making him one of the safest plays of the day.

Nikola Jokic: $11,600 DraftKings/$11,000 FanDuel | 23.9% DraftKings Boom/29.8% FanDuel Boom

Of the elite tier players tonight, Nikola Jokic has the highest “boom” percentage on both sites. A big reason for this is Michael Porter Jr. being ruled out of the game today due to a back injury. With Porter off the floor this season, nobody has seen a larger usage bump than Jokic, who increases by 3.6%, which gives him an average usage rate of 34.1%. With Porter off the floor, Jokic averages over 2.1 NBA fantasy points per minute. The Awesemo Boom/Bust Tool gives Jokic a ceiling of over 60 fantasy points, which is the highest of the day.

Nicolas Batum: $5,600 DraftKings/$6,300 FanDuel | 55.8% DraftKings Bust/66.8% FanDuel Bust

While Nicolas Batum was surprisingly strong to begin this season, he is beginning to slow down now. A big reason for this is the team as a whole is beginning to gel and play off of each other better, taking the ball out of Batum’s hand more often. He has posted a usage rate under 11% in three of his past five games. While last game was his only poor performance, and it was due to a blowout win, the combination of his price raising and usage falling over the past week is a not what we want to see. While he may not completely sink your lineup, Batum is more likely to be a bust than turn in a great performance, especially given the matchup against Chicago. The Awesemo Boom/Bust Tool gives Batum a ceiling of only 30 points today.
