NBA Fantasy Projections & Lineup Optimizer Picks Tonight

Boom: Jaylen Brown: $9,300 DraftKings/$8,000 FanDuel

14.7% DraftKings Boom/32.7% FanDuel Boom

Due to health protocols, Boston will be without many key players tonight, specifically Jayson Tatum and Dennis Schroder. In the 66 minutes Brown has played with these two players off the court this season, his usage has jumped 7percentage points to a team-high 36.1% and he has generated a whopping 1.5 DraftKings points per minute.

Tonight Brown will be going against Minnesota, which is also undermanned due to health protocols. They rank fifth in pace, and despite missing many important pieces, Boston’s implied team total is the sixth highest on the slate (110 points). Brown is one of the best pay-up options on both sites tonight, but at only $8,000 on FanDuel, he is a near must-play.

Boom: Skylar Mays: $3,800 DraftKings/$4,300 FanDuel

68% DraftKings Boom/62.5% FanDuel Boom

Mays is a core value for this seven-game slate with the Hawks extremely short-handed. Trae Young, Delon Wright, John Collins, Danilo Gallinari, Lou Williams, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, Kevin Huerter and Onyeka Okongwu are out due to health protocols, while Deandre Hunter is still on the shelf with a wrist injury. The Hawks will only have 10 available players tonight, and Mays should get the start at point guard. In the 268 minutes he has played specifically with Young and Collins off the floor since the start of last season, Mays has posted a 20.8% usage rate and 1 DraftKings point per minute.

Awesemo is projecting the guard for 32.3 minutes tonight against the Bulls, and while it is only a sample size of four contests, May is producing 27.8 DraftKings points per game when he has cracked the 20-minute mark for his career. Via Awesemo’s Boom Bust Tool, no player possesses a higher Boom score than Mays tonight for both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Update: Young has been upgraded to available for Monday night. This news obviously is a massive hit to Mays’ value, and he becomes a GPP play only. As for Young, he should handle a massive workload with his team so thin and should come with low ownership after missing the last three games.

Boom: Kelly Oubre: $6,100 DraftKings/$6,300 FanDuel

26.8% DraftKings Boom/28.7% FanDuel Boom

Oubre is an elite mid-tier target with Miles Bridges, P.J. Washington and Cody Martin out due to health protocols. In this situation, Awesemo is projecting Oubre for 33 minutes of work against the Rockets. Take these three players off the court and Oubre scores 1.14 DraftKings points per minute behind a 28.8% usage rate, which is a 6.6-percentage-point increase from his season average. On top of the expanded role, this a beautiful matchup for Oubre. Houston ranks second-to-last in defensive efficiency and fourth in pace. In this spot the Hornets present the highest implied team total on the slate (121 points), and this game’s total is also the largest on the board (235.5 points). On both DraftKings and FanDuel, Oubre is laughably underpriced for his upside and is a value play that needs to be utilized.

Boom: Eric Bledsoe: $6,000 DraftKings/$5,500 FanDuel

31.8% DraftKings Boom/50.9% FanDuel Boom

With Paul George (elbow), Reggie Jackson (health protocols) and Marcus Morris (conditioning) sidelined last night, Bledsoe notched a double-double of 50 DraftKings points across 36.6 minutes against the Nuggets. Morris will likely return tonight, but George and Jackson will remain unavailable. In the 244 minutes he has played with George and Jackson off the court, Bledsoe’s usage has seen a 3.2-percentage-point boost and his assist rate has skyrocketed 14.1 percentage points. This translates to 1 DraftKings point per minute for Bledsoe, and he should receive  around 35 minutes tonight against the Nets. Brooklyn ranks eighth in pace this season, and this game’s total is the fifth highest on the slate (213.5 points). Bledsoe is averaging 34.3 DraftKings points per game in which he has logged at least 30 minutes this season (10 games) and is an outstanding target at his affordable price points.
