There is a large NBA fantasy slate to kick off this week with 10 games. This means there is plenty of injury news you will need to pay attention to. The Awesemo NBA Starting Lineups page will give you breaking news when starters are announced as well as a full injury report on players who might be missing in action. Below are some NBA daily fantasy options that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.
NBA Fantasy Projections & Optimal Lineup Picks Today
Boom: Ish Smith — $3,400 DraftKings/$4,500 FanDuel
56.7% DraftKings Boom/32.2% FanDuel Boom
The Hornets have both LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier out tonight, which vaults Ish Smith to a much larger role. In the same situation last game, Smith started and played 32 minutes. He also returned a nice performance, scoring 18 points to go along with five rebounds and seven assists. He is a lock on DraftKings, but he also has high upside on FanDuel. The Boom/Bust Tool gives Smith the highest boom potential on DraftKings today given his near-minimum price tag.
Boom: Josh Giddey — $6,800 DraftKings/$6,200 FanDuel
42.6% DraftKings Boom/56.0% FanDuel Boom
Josh Giddey appears to be back following his two-game absence due to illness. Considering his team is coming off a historic 73-point loss, they are happy to have him back in the lineup. While he is returning, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is not, which means Giddey will be running the show. Giddey has averaged 1.1 fantasy points per minute with Gilgeous-Alexander off the floor. The Boom/Bust Tool gives Giddey the highest boom potential on FanDuel tonight and the second highest on DraftKings, behind only Smith.
Giddey is grading as one of the best overall values on the slate, according to the Awesemo expert projections. Check out who else is popping in the models in the NBA DFS Picks, Grades & Values.
Boom: P.J. Washington — $5,700 DraftKings/$6,000 FanDuel
40.7% DraftKings Boom/34.9% FanDuel Boom
Going back to Charlotte, joining their backcourt on the sideline will be Mason Plumlee and Jalen McDaniels. In other words, the Hornets are extremely short-handed. This does, however, benefit P.J. Washington, making him a great play with plenty of upside. With both of them out last game as well, Washington played 38 minutes off the bench. He totaled a 13-point double-double to go along with three combined steals and blocks. Playing on that second unit, Washington has plenty of potential tonight. Awesemo projects him to play over 34 minutes tonight.

Bust: Stephen Curry — $11,700 DraftKings/$10,700 FanDuel
71.7% DraftKings Bust/57.7% FanDuel Bust
The price for Stephen Curry on DraftKings is absurd, but he is a bust candidate for both sites. It would take a great performance for him to even hit value on FanDuel. With the Awesemo NBA betting model projecting this game to be the widest point spread of the night, Curry could be on the bench for much of the fourth quarter. He will not be able to sit the fourth and still hit value on DraftKings, so it would be wise to spend money elsewhere tonight. With that in mind, that money could be spent on Curry in the NBA player props market. As of right now, the OddsShopper expected win rate on his rebound prop of O/U 5.5 is 70%.
