NBA Fantasy Projections & Lineup Optimizer Picks Tonight

Boom: Guillermo Hernangomez: $3,800 DraftKings/$4,600 FanDuel

84.1% DraftKings Boom/67.9% FanDuel Boom

Plain and simple, Hernangomez is a free square with Jonas Valanciunas (illness) missing his first game of the season. Barring a surprise move, Hernangomez will get the spot start at center tonight when the Pelicans visit the Magic. Orlando is currently missing a slew of key players and for the season, they rank 25th in defensive efficiency. Hernangomez has been extremely efficient this season, leading the Pelicans with 1.34 DraftKings points per minute and Awesemo is projecting the center for 28.3 minutes tonight.

In the last 20 contests Hernangomez has seen a at least 20 minutes, he has contributed 29.2 DraftKings points per game, including eight double-doubles. Hernangomez has a legitimate chance to return over ten-times value and is the No.1 player on the slate in terms of Boom score for both DraftKings and FanDuel, via Awesemo’s Boom Bust Tool.

Boom: Cam Reddish: $4,600 DraftKings/$4,300 FanDuel

44% DraftKings Boom/45.8% FanDuel Boom

With Trae Young, Kevin Huerter, Lou Williams, Clint Capela and Danilo Gallinari out last night due to health protocols, along with De’Andre Hunter, who is still dealing with a knee injury, Reddish earned his first start of the season and did not disappoint. With a 29.2% usage rate and 42.2 minutes of work, both of which were team highs, the Duke product erupted for a career-best 51.5 DraftKings points against the Magic.

All those players will remain unavailable Thursday against the Sixers and in the 80 minutes Reddish has played with those six players off the court since the start of last season, the wing has received a hefty 29.4% usage rate and scored 1.24 DraftKings points per minute. Reddish should log 35-40 minutes tonight and this is a solid spot for him against a shorthanded Sixers’ team that ranks 21st in defensive efficiency this season. Reddish should supply a minimum of 30 fantasy points tonight and is rating as a top-five value on the slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel, via Awesemo’s projections.

Boom: John Collins: $7,300 DraftKings/$7,700 FanDuel

26.1% DraftKings Boom/19.4% FanDuel Boom

Collins is another outstanding option from the depleted Hawks. With those six players listed above absent last night, Collins went off for a season-high 51.5 DraftKings points in 40.6 minutes against the Magic. This playing time total also set a new season high for the forward and when those six players have been off the floor since the start of last season, Collins has obtained a 32% usage rate and provided 1.4 DraftKings points per minute, both which are team highs for this situation.

Another outing of over 50 DraftKings points is possible for Collins and he is rating as the best value above $7,000 on DraftKings, via Awesemo’s projections.

Boom: Nikola Jokic: $12,200 DraftKings/$11,300 FanDuel

37% DraftKings Boom/38.7% FanDuel Boom

With so many elite punt plays at our disposal tonight, building around Jokic is an easy task and should be a priority in this gorgeous matchup against the Hornets. This season, Charlotte ranks dead last in defensive efficiency and second in pace. Furthermore, they are giving up the most rebounds and the seventh most points in the paint. After being crowned the league MVP last year, Jokic has handled career highs in usage (31.6%), assist rate (43.3%) and rebound percentage (22.7%) this season. With this godly role, the center is leading the league with a whopping 1.8 DraftKings points per minute.

Not only does tonight’s matchup with the Hornets present the highest total on the slate (230.5 points), but Denver’s implied team total is the second largest on the board (116.5 points). Additionally, the Nuggets will be at home and when Jokic has played behind an implied team total of at least 115 points on his home floor over the last two seasons, the big man has generated 62 DraftKings points per game. By a huge margin, Jokic brings the highest ceiling on the slate according to Awesemo’s Boom Bust Tool.
