Teams Playing the Second of a Back-to-Back

Toronto Raptors, Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat

Toronto Raptors at Philadelphia 76ers

Raptors – Not Yet Submitted

With the Raptors being one of the three teams on a back-to-back situation, the official version of the NBA Injury Report will not be available until tomorrow in all likelihood. They were mostly healthy last night but there is one key injury that is known in Khem Birch. There is a possibility that Pascal Siakam sits in this one as he works his way back from injury and coach Nick Nurse already called Siakam questionable.

Both players being out could potentially open up a huge role for Precious Achiuwa and he has 0.93 fantasy points per minute with a 20.9% usage on the season. The Raptors could be short on size, which would lead to a small potential role for Chris Boucher, but that is super difficult to believe in. He is only averaging 13 minutes per game, and he has only played a handful of minutes lately. He does have 1.15 fantasy points per minute in his time on the court, but that does not matter if he is not on the court.

76ers – Joel Embiid, Matisse Thybulle, Ben Simmons – Out

Tobias Harris, Seth Curry – Questionable

Philadelphia is at it again and it could still be down to what amounts to an eight-man rotation. Last game it was only seven, but there could be added reinforcements if Curry and Harris make it back. If they do, it can be expected that players run a little closer to average minutes. If both play, Paul Reed would fall out of the starting lineup and be a little scary to play, because two games ago, he played just five minutes. Dating back to last season, Harris has been a fantasy dynamo when Embiid and Simmons are off the floor with a 31.4% usage and 1.31 fantasy points per minute.

Andre Drummond remains an elite target as well even with the salary increase on DraftKings. Even though the Raptors are top 12 in points and rebounds allowed in the paint, Drummond has 1.38 fantasy points per minute across the 223-minute sample size. Toronto could also lack the size to really contend with him down low as well. The status of Harris and Curry is important, but even if they both play, Philadelphia is still mostly on an eight-man rotation with Reed as an odd man out. The 76ers are going to present value once again and they will likely be extremely popular. Pending who is active, Furkan Korkmaz could be in a prime bounce-back spot. After not being able to hit water if he fell out of a boat in the last game, Toronto is in the bottom 10 in the frequency of 3-point attempts allowed and field-goal percentage allowed.

Indiana Pacers at Utah Jazz

Pacers – Not Yet Submitted

Indiana was in Denver last night and did have one very important injury in Caris LeVert. His status will not be known until later, but with the injury involved being his back, it would seem he is truly questionable. He did have surgery in the offseason and that pushes more to the plate of Malcolm Brogdon and Chris Duarte. Both players see their usage rates increase by over 1.2% and Brogdon is still leading the league in touches per game. However, the play-type data is not kind for this offense judging by the sample said so far. Rudy Gobert awaits in the paint and Domantas Sabonis scores the most points in the league from being the roll man in the pick and roll. Gobert is 12th as far as allowing points in that play type and it could hurt Brogdon as well. No player scores more points from drives to the basket and that is harder to do against Gobert. The status of LeVert will be one to watch throughout the day.

Jazz – Rudy Gay – IR

The Jazz has a clean bill of health in the NBA Injury Report.

Miami Heat at Los Angeles Clippers

Heat – Not Yet Submitted

Since they are playing tonight, the official NBA Injury Report will have to wait. Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo were questionable last night but it does not seem like they were in serious danger of missing last night’s game. They were missing some of their depth players in Max Strus and Markieff Morris, but those would not have any real effect on the fantasy fortunes of this squad. Jimmy Butler is seventh in transition points this season and that could be a nice bonus against a team that is seventh in pace.

Note – It is unknown as far as severity, but Jimmy Butler was forced from last night’s game with a sprained ankle before the half. Adebayo and Herro would turn into primary targets that are not priced accurately if Butler is out for tonight. Adebayo sees his usage jump up by 4% and he backs it up with 1.48 fantasy points per minute. Herro and Kyle Lowry would carry much more of an offensive load and Herro has played the most minutes without Butler on the floor with 1.17 fantasy points per minute.

Clippers – Not Yet Submitted

Even though the official version is not out yet, Marcus Morris has been ruled out and it appears that the Clippers are status quo. Nicolas Batum is still sitting around 28 minutes per game and shooting 46.4% from 3-point distance. Miami leads the league in 3-point frequency allowed so this is a good spot for Batum to continue shooting extremely well. Another metric in Batum’s favor is he is fifth in points in spot-up shooting and Miami faces the highest frequency and gives up the most points.
