Last night we had a fun Monday night Daily Fantasy GPP with the Excellent 8’s on DraftKings. There were 73,529 entries at $8 a pop, which gave us a prize pool of $500,000 with $100,000 to first place and $88,232 into the DraftKings coffers thanks to the rake. Let’s get right into the NBA daily fantasy lineup review.
NBA Daily Fantasy DraftKings GPP Lineup Review | Feb. 22
In this NBA DraftKings GPP, the 73,529 total entries came from 21,643 different DFS players, 3,217 (15%) of which made a profit. A total of 85% of DFS players who entered this GPP lost money.
The Winner
Congratulations to yo-teach, who won this GPP with a score of 356 with a single entry. The winning lineup used all $50,000 salary and had a cumulative team ownership of 162.5%. The key in this lineup were the value pieces David Nwaba and Jalen Brunson, both of whom were less than 10% owned and smashed. Russell Westbrook at 7.5% rostered did not hurt either.

Salary and Ownership
Eight of the top 50 finishers used less than $49,700. Here are the top salaries used last night:
- $50,000 | 50%
- $49,900 | 23%
- $49,800 | 12%
- $49,700 | 6%
- $49,600 | 3%
The most popular optimal lineup was played 67 times, using all $50,000 team salary and having a cumulative team ownership of only 187.7%, which is surprisingly low. It scored a 264 and did not cash.
The 150-Maxers
One hundred and twelve 150-maxers entered 16,800 lineups, making up 23% of entries in this tournament. Thirty-six made a profit, and eight cashed fewer than 20 lineups. All told, 150-maxers took 15 of the top 20 spots.
The most profitable 150-maxer was JBCJBCJBC, one of the best in the business. He took second and fourth place; his best lineup used $49,800 and 103.8% ownership. Of note is that it does not have two players from the same team.
Miscellaneous
Boom of the slate is a tie. Georges Niang and Nassir Little both rewarded the 333 entries that used one of them with 9.6x at their respective prices of $3,100 and $3,000. Bust was John Wall, rostered on 40.1% of entries, 3.6x (28.75 fantasy points) for $8,000.
Two hundred eighty-five lineups were reserved and not played. The lowest-owned lineup that cashed (min-cashed) featured cumulative team ownership of only 30.7%:
The lowest-salary team that cashed (min-cashed) used $47,400 team salary:
The best lineup possible would have scored a 374.75 and would have won this GPP by 18.75 points:
