NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Awesemo Grades | March 26

SF Brandon Ingram

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: C

FanDuel Grades: B, Values: B

Ingram has taken full advantage of Lonzo Ball (doubtful, hip) being absent these past two contests, posting 54.5 DraftKings points against the Nuggets and 47.25 DraftKings points against the Lakers. He and the Pelicans will get to face Denver again tonight, and Ball isn’t expected to be available. Presenting a tight 2.5-point spread and 232 total, the second highest the slate, this is one of the premium environments of Friday night. It is also worth mentioning that J.J. Redick was traded to Dallas yesterday.

In these past two with both Ball and Redick inactive, Ingram has averaged 1.41 DraftKings points per minute due to a 4.7% usage bump and a 6.6% increase to his assist rate. Opposing small forward Michael Porter Jr. is one of the worst defenders in the league at his position, ranking 89th of 100 eligible small forwards in real defensive plus/minus. Ingram is a very appealing combination of safety and upside tonight.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 7.7%, FanDuel 9.4%

PG Nickeil Alexander-Walker

DraftKings Grades: B, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: C, Values: A

Like Ingram, Alexander-Walker has benefited greatly from Ball being sidelined. He has been the interim starter for Ball, scoring 32.5 DraftKings points behind 32.3 minutes per game in these last two. Neither of James Johnson or Wesley Iwundu, the two players the Pelicans received in the Redick deal, will be active tonight, and Alexander-Walker should see a minimum of 30 minutes in this strong setting against the Nuggets.

Including a career-high 52.5 DraftKings points against the Clippers back in January, Alexander-Walker has provided 33.2 DraftKings points per game in the 10 career games he has been asked to log 30 minutes or more. At $5,300 on both sites, Alexander-Walker is a great mid-tier target for any format.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 27.5%, FanDuel 20.5%

C Robert Williams

DraftKings Grades: B, Values: B

FanDuel Grades: B, Values: A

The time has finally come for Williams to be the Celtics’ starting center. In an effort to get under the luxury tax, they dealt starting center Daniel Theis to Chicago yesterday in a three-team trade. In return Boston received a pair of centers in Moritz Wagner and Luke Kornet, but neither are expected to be available tonight, and more importantly, Tristan Thompson will miss his seventh straight due to the NBA’s health and safety protocols. The Celtics are going to be down to only nine players, with Williams and Tacko Fall as the only true centers in uniform.

The bottom line is Theis was an important piece for the Celtics, especially on the defensive end, and the willingness to deal him for not much of a return is a clear sign that Boston believes that Williams is ready to take on a larger role. Barring a surprise lineup, he should slide into the starting five tonight, and should get a heavy dose of playing time against the Bucks. Williams has been the Celtics’ top fantasy asset since the All-Star break, producing a terrific 1.47 DraftKings points per minute. With Boston so understaffed in their frontcourt, Williams should get around 30 minutes. He has topped 40 DraftKings points in two of his last five, and this matchup with Milwaukee has a 235 over/under, which is the high mark of the slate. His salaries are up to season highs on both DraftKings and FanDuel but are still too low for the massive upside Williams brings in this situation.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 10.1%, FanDuel 12.4%

PG Jalen Brunson

DraftKings Grades: B, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: B, Values: A

After ruining most DFS players’ lineups with an uncharacteristic 29 DraftKings points against the Timberwolves on Wednesday, Luka Doncic has been listed as doubtful for Friday with a back injury. This opens the door for Brunson to start at point guard tonight a Pacers defense that has slipped to 20th in defensive rating since the All-Star break. With Doncic slowed by the back injury Wednesday night, Brunson stepped up and was huge in the win, recording 39.75 DraftKings points in 29.3 minutes off the bench. Friday night will be Doncic’s fourth absence of the season, and in the first three, Brunson started on every occasion and was outstanding with 38.25 DraftKings points in 35.1 minutes per game.

At sub-$5,000 salaries on both sites, Brunson is going to be very chalky, but it will be wise to eat the chalk tonight and differentiate elsewhere in GPPs.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 61.8%, FanDuel 43.6%
