NBA Daily Fantasy Picks Picks Based on Awesemo Grades & Values | 5/6/21

For Thursday night, NBA DFS players get an interesting seven-game slate to target. The main team to keep an eye on is the Pacers. Malcolm Brogdon (questionable, hamstring) could miss his third in a row, which would make players like Domantas Sabonis, Caris LeVert and T.J. McConnell appealing NBA daily fantasy picks in this slate-high 240-point total against the Hawks. Given how late it is in the NBA regular season, some other important news is bound to surprise tonight, so make sure to constantly check back to Awesemo’s NBA DFS rankings and projections for both DraftKings and FanDuel while building your NBA daily fantasy lineups.

NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Awesemo Grades | May 6

SG Frank Jackson

DraftKings Grades: B, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: C, Values: A

The Pistons will continue to tank away their season Thursday night against the Grizzlies, creating many appealing cheap value plays. Wayne Ellington (calf), Cory Joseph (ankle) and Killian Hayes (illness) are questionable, but all of Mason Plumlee (rest), Josh Jackson (tooth) Jerami Grant (rest), Rodney McGruder (elbow), Dennis Smith (knee) and Hamidou Diallo (knee) are officially out. With 27.8 minutes per game and a 24.6% usage rate, Jackson has delivered 25 DraftKings points per game off the bench in the eight Plumlee and Grant have missed this season. Now, take two high-usage players like Josh Jackson and Diallo out of the equation, and Jackson’s role should grow even further in this plus spot. Memphis ranks 22nd in defensive rating over their last 10, and they are playing their second game in two nights.

Jackson just posted a season-high 42.25 DraftKings points this past Saturday, and he brings similar upside this evening. Via Awesemo’s NBA DFS projections, Jackson is a top-12 value on both DraftKings and FanDuel for this seven-game slate.

NBA DFS Ownership Projection: DraftKings 25.6%, FanDuel 17.4%

PG Russell Westbrook

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: B

FanDuel Grades: A, Values: C

It is simply not possible to build a lineup without Westbrook right now. After destroying the Bucks for 81 DraftKings points last night, he has been in the winning lineup of DraftKings’ main GPP of the night the last three times he has been in action.

As the Wizards look to improve their seed with only six games remaining in the regular season, coach Scott Brooks has pushed Westbrook over 40 minutes in five of their last six games, with that lone outlier being a 29-point blowout win. With the Wizards only 3-point underdogs in Toronto tonight, the ridiculous volume should absolutely continue for Westbrook. Since the start of April, Westbrook has collected a tremendous 67.1 DraftKings points per game when the spread has been less than 5 points, and Rui Hachimura (illness) will be out the lineup. When Hachimura and Thomas Bryant (out, knee) have been off the court, Westbrook’s usage has seen 2.2-point spike. He is honestly about $2,000 too cheap at only $11,000 on DraftKings.

NBA DFS Ownership Projection: DraftKings 28.6%, FanDuel 13.6%

PF Draymond Green

DraftKings Grades: B, Values: B

FanDuel Grades: B, Values: B

Even with the Warriors favored by 14 points tonight, gamers have to keep attacking Green while DraftKings continues to underprice him. Including a season-best 61.25 DraftKings points against the Pelicans this past Saturday, he has scored at least 36 DraftKings points in six of his past seven starts, and Kelly Oubre (wrist) will be sidelined again tonight. In the eight the Warriors have played without Oubre and James Wiseman (out, knee), Green has contributed 39.7 DraftKings points per game.

Additionally, Golden State’s 120-point implied team total is the second highest on the board, and Green is averaging 37.7 DraftKings points per game when playing behind a team total of at least 120 points this season. Even with the Warriors running away with a 47-point win, Green went nuts for a 61-DraftKings-point triple-double against the Thunder last month.

NBA DFS Ownership Projection: DraftKings 22.8%, FanDuel 21.0%

SF Caleb Martin

DraftKings Grades: C, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: C, Values: A

Martin is appropriately priced on FanDuel, but he is a standout value at only $3,900 on DraftKings. With P.J. Washington (personal), Gordon Hayward (foot), Cody Martin (ankle), Miles Bridges (health protocols) and Devonte’ Graham (knee) out Tuesday, Martin got the spot start at small forward for the Hornets and finished with 32.75 DraftKings points in 33.6 minutes against the Pistons. Washington will rejoin the team tonight, but the rest of these players will be inactive, keeping Martin in a sizeable role.

Per Awesemo’s NBA DFS projections, Martin is slated for 30.1 minutes tonight against the Bulls. In all the time he has been on the floor this season without those injured players listed above, Martin has provided 0.9 DraftKings points per minute. He is averaging a strong 31.5 DraftKings points per game when he has surpassed the 30-minute mark this year, and Martin is a necessity on DraftKings tonight given the lack of appealing options at small forward.

NBA DFS Ownership Projection: DraftKings 17.6%, FanDuel 7.0%
