NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Awesemo Grades | Feb. 26

Center: Clint Capela

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: B

FanDuel Grades: A, Values: B

The Hawks embarrassed the Celtics on Wednesday, and Capela was only needed for 21.2 minutes (27.25 DraftKings points). Friday’s matchup against the Thunder calls for a small 5.5-point spread, and Capela should get back to over 30 minutes tonight, especially with no game tomorrow. Prior to the blowout over Boston, Capela had logged at least 30 minutes in five straight, resulting in 44.6 DraftKings points per game. Capela exceeded 30 minutes 13 times this season and produced 48.8 DraftKings points per game in those games.

This is also an appealing matchup for Capela with Al Horford out of the lineup for the Thunder and the 6-foot-8 Isaiah Roby starting at center. Capela has a two-inch height advantage on Roby and should bully him for a large double-double. Capela is currently the NBA’s leading rebounder at 13.8 per game, and Vegas has his prop line for tonight at 17 points, 16 rebounds and 1 assist. This is already 40 DraftKings points before defensive stats, and Capela isn’t expected to gain much attention in GPPs tonight.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 11.5%, FanDuel 12.7%

Small Forward: Gordon Hayward

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: A, Values: A

Tonight’s clash between the Warriors and Hornets carries the highest total of the Friday night by a significant 6 points (233.5 points). This is without question the top game environment of the slate, and at affordable price tags on both DraftKings and FanDuel, Hayward is an excellent way to gain exposure. In consecutive games against the Jazz and Suns — who both rank inside the top 10 in defensive efficiency — Hayward averaged 35.9 DraftKings points per game.

The Warriors are also a stout defensive group (fourth in efficiency), but neither of these past two matchups presented a total above 230 points. When Hayward has been active for a total north of 230 this season, he has provided 41.9 DraftKings points per game. Hayward is a compelling play on both sites, but his $6,700 salary on DraftKings is the lowest he has been since opening night.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 26.1%, FanDuel 26.8%

Latest NBA DFS Content

Center: Bismack Biyombo

DraftKings Grades: D, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: C, Values: A

Cody Zeller suffered a hip injury during the third quarter of Wednesday’s matchup with the Suns and is doubtful for tonight. With Zeller unable to return in that win, Biyombo took over at center for the Hornets and collected 24.75 DraftKings points in 26 minutes. He is expected to draw the start tonight and is a no-brainer given the lack of appealing punts on the slate.

Tonight will be the 14th time Zeller has been inactive this year, and as the replacement starter, Biyombo is averaging 21.9 DraftKings points per game. The last full contest Zeller missed was just over a month ago, and Biyombo received a season-high 33.3 minutes and scored 25.75 DraftKings points. He should garner right around 30 minutes against the Warriors, and this is a decent matchup, with Golden State surrendering the fourth-most DraftKings points per game to opposing centers over their past five. Biyombo is an interesting fade for GPPs, but for cash games the salary relief he provides is too valuable to ignore.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 19.9%, FanDuel 20.5%

Point Guard: Kemba Walker

DraftKings Grades: B, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: B, Values: A

Walker doesn’t carry a minutes limit anymore, receiving 33.3 minutes per game in his last four, and he was rested for Wednesday’s loss to the Hawks. The Celtics have stuck to their plan of sitting Walker for one leg of every back-to-back this season, and it has proven to be very effective recently.

In his last three starts that came after missing a game for rest, Walker has scored 35.75, 40.25 and 52.25 DraftKings points. Obviously the extra time off is extremely beneficial for Walker, and he is underpriced at only $6,200 on DraftKings. The point guard is a core play for me on that site and an interesting GPP target on FanDuel with low expected ownership.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 19.1%, FanDuel 11.2%
