NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Awesemo Grades | April 14

Point Guard: Russell Westbrook

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: B

FanDuel Grades: A, Values: B

Wednesday night’s slate features a ridiculous 11 NBA games, and this matchup between the Wizards and Kings is the top contest to attack for fantasy purposes. The total for this game is the highest on the board at 241 points, and the Vegas oddsmakers are predicting a competitive affair, listing the Wizards as only 2-point favorites. Westbrook is in very strong form, leading Washington to victory Monday night against the Jazz with 68.5 DraftKings points, posting his ninth triple-double in his past 10 starts. Another triple-double is almost guaranteed against a Sacramento defense that ranks dead last in efficiency and is allowing opposing point guards to score DraftKings points at the sixth-highest rate.

Westbrook destroyed this same Kings club for 62.5 DraftKings points less than a month ago, and the Wizards boast a slate-high 121.75 point implied total. They have been slated for 120 points or more five times this season, and Westbrook eclipsed 60 DraftKings in three of those five starts. He is the unrivaled top overall play on both DraftKings and FanDuel for Wednesday’s enormous card.

Projected NBA DFS Ownership: DraftKings 19.0%, FanDuel 13.0%

Point Guard: Malachi Flynn

DraftKings Grades: B, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: B, Values: A

Last night, with Kyle Lowry (out, rest) and Fred VanVleet (out, suspension) still out of the lineup, Flynn continued his impressive play, tallying 39.75 DraftKings points over 35 minutes against the Hawks. The duo of VanVleet and Lowry have now both missed the six of the past seven for Toronto, and Flynn has produced 37 DraftKings points per game with them sidelined. DeAndre’ Bembry (hamstring) was also inactive last night, and will continue to be absent on Wednesday, along with Gary Trent Jr. (ankle), who will miss his first game since being traded to Toronto.

The sample size may be small, but when he has been on the floor without Trent, Bembry, Lowry, VanVleet, Terence Davis and Norman Powell, Flynn has a 28.4% usage rate, and is supplying 1.0 DraftKings points per minute (points per minute). Given how understaffed the Raptors will be tonight, Flynn is going to start and should log nothing less than 35 minutes, with the potential to get into the 40s against the Spurs. San Antonio has been putrid at defending point guards this season, giving up the fifth-most DraftKings points per game to the position, and Flynn is a top-three value for both DraftKings and FanDuel tonight, based on Awesemo’s projections.

Projected NBA DFS Ownership: DraftKings 31.0%, FanDuel 40.6%

Power Forward: Pascal Siakam

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: A, Values: A

In the absences of Lowry, Bembry and VanVleet on Tuesday, Siakam led the Raptors with 40 DraftKings points in a team-high 40.3 minutes against the Hawks. Trent saw 35 minutes in this contest, and with him now being added to the Raptors’ lengthy injury report ahead of Wednesday’s date with the Spurs, Siakam is projecting for an absurd role. Albeit in a limited amount of data, he is posting a team-best 33.6% usage rate and 31.6% assist percentage when VanVleet, Lowry, Bembry, Trent, Powell and Davis are off the court. This equates to 1.35 DraftKings points per minute, and considering the Spurs are only 5.5-point favorites, coach Nick Nurse should force Siakam to reach the 40-minute mark. Mix this ridiculous volume with a matchup against a San Antonio defense that has plummeted to 25th in defensive rating this month, and Siakam is a difficult fade for all formats.

Projected NBA DFS Ownership: DraftKings 16.8%, FanDuel 19.8%

Point Guard: John Wall

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: B

FanDuel Grades: B, Values: C

Wall has a very high ceiling tonight and shouldn’t be overly popular after a dud in his last start; he is forecasted for less than 10% ownership via Awesemo’s projections. Unsurprisingly, Wall scored only 28.5 DraftKings points against Phoenix, whose defense is top five in the league. However, Wall’s 28.7% usage rate and 35.5 minute total were very encouraging. Before this awful matchup, he was putting up huge numbers with Victor Oladipo out of town, generating 45.3 DraftKings points per game in his previous seven.

With this not being a back-to-back set for Houston, Wall isn’t listed on the injury report and should be a full-go in this friendly atmosphere against the Pacers. The total for this matchup is all the way up to 233.5 points, and Wall is contributing 43.5 DraftKings points per game in totals north of 230 points since joining Houston.

Projected NBA DFS Ownership: DraftKings 14.8%, FanDuel 7.4%
