NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Awesemo Grades | April 13

Shooting Guard: Paul George

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: B

FanDuel Grades: A, Values: A

The highest total of this six-game slate goes to Clippers – Pacers at 232 points. For the second straight outing, Los Angeles will be without the services Kawhi Leonard (foot), Serge Ibaka (back) and Patrick Beverley (hand). With these three sidelined Saturday night, George led the way for the Clippers in the win against the Pistons, posting 50.75 DraftKings points across 37 minutes. He was one assist shy of a double-double, and this was George’s third consecutive performance of at least 50 DraftKings points. Also, this was the second full contest this season he has been active for sans Leonard, Beverly and Ibaka, and George is averaging 49.75 DraftKings points per game and a colossal 39.1% usage rate with these key players out of the lineup.

George has shot an outstanding 56% from the field in his last three starts, and combining this efficiency with the godly role he will receive tonight, he is a must-play against his former team. With Myles Turner (who has already been ruled for Tuesday) inactive for their last three, the Pacers have been abysmal defensively, ranking 23rd in defensive rating.

Projected NBA DFS Ownership: DraftKings 38.0%, FanDuel 42.4%

Power Forward: Domantas Sabonis

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: C

FanDuel Grades: A, Values: C

With no players priced $10,000 or more tonight, building a balanced lineup around Sabonis and George is the preferred route for roster construction. Sabonis has been a stud with Turner injured, scoring 50.5 DraftKings points per game in his past two starts. Despite being in foul trouble Sunday night against the Grizzlies, Sabonis recorded a near triple-double of 18 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists in only 30 minutes of work. Battling foul issues isn’t a common trend for him, and he would have gotten into the high 30s if he didn’t pick up his fifth foul in the third quarter.

When Turner isn’t available, Indiana mostly deploys lineups that include Sabonis at center and four wing players. Naturally, not having another big man on the floor results in a team-high 18.6% rebound percentage and 26% usage rate for Sabonis. He is generating 53.5 DraftKings points per game in totals that are 230 points or greater this season, and Sabonis exposed the Clippers for 50.5 DraftKings points back in January. He is Awesemo’s No. 3 power forward on DraftKings tonight.

Projected NBA DFS Ownership: DraftKings 16.0%, FanDuel 17.4%

Power Forward: Marcus Morris

DraftKings Grades: C, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: C, Values: B

Morris lit the Pistons up for 44.5 DraftKings points in 36 minutes on Sunday. This set a new season high for him, and while a repeat performance is unlikely tonight, understand that after George, Morris is the primary beneficiary of the Clippers’ injuries in this specific scenario. The presence of Rajon Rondo negatively effects Reggie Jackson and Terance Mann in the backcourt but doesn’t move the needle for Morris. He is a safe bet for 35 to 40 minutes with Leonard unavailable, and in all the time Morris has played without Leonard, Beverly, Ibaka and Lou Williams this season, his usage rate has jumped 6.5% and he has collected 1.15 DraftKings points per minute.

The Clippers sport a large 117.5-point implied total against this struggling Pacers defense, and Morris is a no-brainer at the always-thin power forward position for both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Projected NBA DFS Ownership: DraftKings 23.4%, FanDuel 27.6%

Point Guard: Malachi Flynn

DraftKings Grades: C, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: C, Values: A

After returning from a six-game absence Sunday, Kyle Lowry will be rested this evening while Fred VanVleet (hip) remains sidelined. Flynn may not earn the spot start, but he is going to see big minutes no matter what as the Raptors’ primary point guard Tuesday against the Hawks. Before Lowry returned Sunday, Flynn was taking full advantage of him and VanVleet being injured, producing 36.5 DraftKings points in 34.3 minutes per game in his previous five.

So far during his rookie season, Flynn has contributed 1.0 DraftKings point per minute when VanVleet, Lowry, Norman Powell and Terence Davis have been off the court. Atlanta ranks 21st in defensive efficiency, and neither DraftKings nor FanDuel were prepared for Lowry being out, leaving Flynn at very reasonable price points. He should effortlessly exceed 5x value, particularly on FanDuel, where his $5,200 salary has him rating as the top value of the night via Awesemo’s projections.

Projected NBA DFS Ownership: DraftKings 19.4%, FanDuel 19.4%
