NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Awesemo Grades | Dec. 8

SF Dillon Brooks — Grades: B, B| Values: A, A
With Ja Morant out, the Grizzlies have asked their starters to pick it up on the offensive end. Dillon Brooks is one of the team’s best offensive players, and he proved this last game, totaling 21 points and eight assists. Despite the strong performance, his price decreased. Facing the Mavericks tonight, who are on the second leg of a back-to-back, Brooks should be able to have another strong offensive performance. Awesemo projects Brooks to lead his team in scoring, putting up over 20 points.
C Montrezl Harrell — Grades: C, C | Values: A, A
Montrezl Harrell has seen his NBA DFS price fall further and further over the past couple of weeks. With a matchup against the Pistons tonight, this could end up being the lowest salary he will get for the foreseeable future since Detroit has been the ultimate get-right game for most athletes no matter the sport. The Pistons rank bottom 10 in defensive efficiency, points allowed, rebounds allowed and blocks allowed. In other words, Harrell has a strong matchup; all he needs to do is take advantage of it. Awesemo projects him to be the second-leading scorer on the team tonight.
SF Norman Powell — Grades: C, C | Values: A, A
The Trail Blazers are a mess. For years, they have been nothing much outside of their backcourt duo of Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum. Both players are now out, and they must find some offense somewhere. Norman Powell is a strong candidate to step up. With both of those players out last game, Powell scored 29 points on 24 shot attempts. If he is going to take on the main scoring role for this team, he has plenty of value tonight. While he did have a strong last game and everything points to him having a large role going forward, the Awesemo Boom/Bust Tool gives him a ceiling of only 32 NBA fantasy points, so he is not a must-start, but he could be close to that if Anfernee Simons is also out tonight.

SG Ayo Dosunmu — Grades: C, C | Values: A, A
The Bulls are dealing with a bit of a COVID outbreak, with DeMar DeRozan, Coby White and Javonte Green all out. On top of that, Alex Caruso also missed last game with a hamstring injury. If he is sidelined once again, then rookie Ayo Dosunmu should be a lock to start. Paired with a cheap price tag, Dosunmu is projected to play 37 minutes tonight. Last game he totaled 11 points, six rebounds and eight assists in 42 minutes against Denver.
