NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Awesemo Grades | Nov. 2
*Grades are ordered DraftKings, FanDuel. Initial grade indicates a player’s strength of output, with the value grade indicating their strength as a play in relation to their salary.
C Bam Adebayo — Grades: A, A | Values: A, B
The only player who currently matches an A grade with an A value is Bam Adebayo on DraftKings, where is a $1,000 discount from FanDuel. While he is currently listed as questionable, he was a full participant in shootaround on Monday and is expected to go tonight. Adebayo is coming off a 26-point, 19-rebound performance. Tonight he gets to face a Dallas frontcourt that ranks 25th in fantasy points surrendered to the position, per Fantasy Cruncher. Adebayo also has five straight double-doubles against Dallas, and he was one rebound shy of a triple-double in the previous meeting.
SF Dorian Finney-Smith — Grades: B, B | Values: A, A
The Mavericks have already ruled out Maxi Kleber tonight, and it is a possibility that Kristaps Porzingis will miss another game. Pair those absences with the strong Heat defense focusing on Luka Doncic, and it looks to be a game where Dorian Finney-Smith will be asked to step up on the offensive end of the floor. While he does not offer a massive ceiling, his minutes and usage should make him a strong value play. Awesemo’s projections agree, projecting Finney-Smith to be the team’s second-leading scorer (15.64), even with Porzingis projected for 32 minutes.
SG Pat Connaughton — Grades: B, B | Values: A, A
The injured Bucks became even more short-handed with Khris Middleton being ruled out due to health and safety protocols. This moved Pat Connaughton to the starting lineup, though it was not met with success due to a tough matchup against Utah. However, the matchup against Detroit today is clearly much easier, so look for Connaughton to take advantage. While he is known as a shooter, one of the best parts of his game is his rebounding ability. The Pistons will miss plenty of shots tonight, so look for Connaughton to have quite a few boards. Awesemo’s projections have Connaughton projected for 6.42 rebounds and the second-most points on the team.
PG George Hill — Grades: C, C | Values: A, A
George Hill is another player that does not have a massive ceiling, but he is extremely steady and a great value option, especially on DraftKings where he is only $3,800. With Jrue Holiday out, Hill has been starting and playing over 30 minutes. Without Middleton, look for Hill to shoot a bit more, which is a good thing for the Bucks and a great thing for anyone playing him for salary relief tonight. Awesemo’s projections have Hill projected for over 14 points.
