NBA Daily Fantasy Picks Picks Based on Awesemo Grades & Values | 10/20/21

After dipping toes in the water with yesterday’s two-game slate, the NBA is leaping off the diving board today with a 11-gamer. With this being the first game of the season for these 22 teams, this should be the least chaotic day of the season in terms of NBA DFS injury news. Still, there are a few pieces of news on players from the second game yet to be released. Be sure to check the Awesemo NBA Starting Lineups page to see who is in, who is out and who is starting as news breaks, and look at the NBA DFS rankings and projections for both DraftKings and FanDuel lineups tonight.

NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Awesemo Grades | October 20

PG Dejounte Murray

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: A, Values: A

Dejounte Murray came into his own a little more last season, and he averaged nearly 32 minutes per game, which was by far a career high. With Patty Mills gone, the minutes for Murray are even safer, so he should stack the box score consistently. He is a better value on DraftKings, where he is under $7,000. However, he is projected to be a great value on both sites. Murray is projected to put up over 40 NBA DFS points tonight against the Magic.

C Christian Wood

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: A, Values: A

Speaking of coming into his own, Christian Wood proved to be one of the most improved players in the NBA last season, and he has finally earned a significant role on a team. He averaged 21 points and 9.6 rebounds last season, totaling a double-double in over 41% of his games. While the Rockets have a highly touted rookie behind him, Wood’s minutes should be safe early in the season. Wood is projected to play 34.5 minutes, which is the second most on the team. Awesemo is also projecting Wood to finish with a 20-point double-double.

SG Bradley Beal

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: B

FanDuel Grades: A, Values: B

Last season Bradley Beal was one of the most dominating scorers in the NBA. He averaged a career-high 31.3 points, and he did this with Russell Westbrook alongside him. With Westbrook off the floor last season, Beal commanded a ridiculous 39.9% usage rate. Westbrook is in Los Angeles now, and while there are other weapons on Washington this season, it is clear that Beal will be running the show. He also averaged 1.5 DraftKings points and 1.44 on FanDuel points per minute with Westbrook off the floor last season. Beal is projected to play 36.9 minutes tonight.

SG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: B, Values: A

Many forget how good Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was last season since he was limited to only 35 games and his last game was in March. However, he averaged 23.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.9 assists and two made 3-point shots per game. He has a 29% usage rate, and Gilgeous-Alexander should post a similar use again this season. His price will likely rise to $8,000 on both sites sooner rather than later, so take advantage of his reduced price today. Gilgeous-Alexander is projected for about 40 NBA daily fantasy points tonight.
