NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Optimizer & Ownership Projections for DraftKings & FanDuel

The week begins with an 11-game NBA daily fantasy slate tonight. Plenty of NBA DFS injury news is yet to come out, so be sure to check the Awesemo NBA Starting Lineups page to see who is in, who is out and who is starting as news breaks, and look at the NBA DFS rankings and projections for both DraftKings and FanDuel lineups tonight.

NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Awesemo Grades | Nov. 15

*Grades are ordered DraftKings, FanDuel. Initial grade indicates a player’s strength of output, with the value grade indicating their strength as a play in relation to their salary.

PG Spencer Dinwiddie — Grades: B, B | Values: B, A

Bradley Beal is out yet again for the Wizards tonight, which means Spencer Dinwiddie is in play. He has averaged 28.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists in the two games without Beal this season. Dinwiddie has also seen a usage bump of 6.3% without Beal on the floor, bringing him to a team-high 31.1%. Per Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool, Dinwiddie has a ceiling of over 40 fantasy points tonight while still providing a high floor. He is a player to build around for this slate.

Awesemo’s Adam Strangis is also finding Dinwiddie as one of the best plays on the slate, which he wrote about in the Monday NBA DFS Slate Starter.

SG Talen Horton-Tucker — Grades: C, C | Values: A, A

Awesemo projections view Talen Horton-Tucker as the best overall value on DraftKings and the second best on FanDuel, behind only Alex Caruso. Horton-Tucker made his season debut last night and played 27 minutes. Given the injuries the Lakers are dealing with, they need his scoring immediately. He put up 17 points last night, shooting 50% from the floor. While the matchup against the Bulls is not the best, he is priced at minimum on DraftKings, and Horton-Tucker is still very cheap on FanDuel. He is a great salary saver tonight, assuming he can play a back-to-back right away.

PG Alex Caruso — Grades: C, C | Values: A, A

Caruso will be playing with a little extra juice tonight. After the Lakers did not offer him the money he felt he earned, this will be his first matchup against his former team, and it is in Los Angeles. Caruso has played a steady role for the Bulls off the bench, averaging over 28 minutes per game. He had 7 points, nine rebounds and five assists in his first game back at STAPLES Center last night, but tonight he will see the Lakers fans pack the stands. Projections view Caruso as the top value at his position on both DraftKings and FanDuel tonight.

PF Jaren Jackson Jr. — Grades: B, B | Values: B, B

The Grizzlies have the highest-projected total of the night (116), per the Awesemo NBA DFS Rankings. Given the matchup is against the Rockets, that is not overly surprising. One of the players to benefit most should be Jaren Jackson Jr., who is at a reduced price right now. Rebounds and blocks should continue to be there for Jackson, but this is a great matchup because he should be able to score efficiently, which is the inconsistent part of his game.
