NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Optimizer & Ownership Projections

*Grades are ordered DraftKings, FanDuel. Initial grade indicates a player’s strength of output, with the value grade indicating their strength as a play in relation to their salary.

SG Jordan Clarkson — Grades: B, C | Values: A, A

With Donovan Mitchell out tonight, the Jazz need someone to step up on the offensive end. Whenever Utah has needed more offense, Jordan Clarkson has been there to answer the call. With Mitchell off the floor this season, Clarkson has had a 31.1% usage rate, which leads the team. He has also averaged over 1 fantasy point per minute, and Awesemo projects Clarkson for 28 minutes tonight. Clarkson also put up 21 points against the Spurs a couple of weeks ago.

SF Joe Ingles — Grades: C, D | Values: A, A

If looking for exposure to the Jazz tonight at a cheaper price point, Joe Ingles is another solid option. He also sees a usage bump without Mitchell, and he averages just under 1 fantasy point per minute. He should operate as a ball handler a bit more often tonight without Mitchell, which should lead to an uptick of assists. Awesemo also projects Ingles to play 28 minutes tonight, so he should handle the ball quite a bit with when Mike Conley is off the floor.

PG Derrick White — Grades: B, B | Values: A, B

Dejounte Murray is out tonight for the Spurs, which opens up opportunity for Derrick White. He averages over 1 fantasy per minute without Murray on the floor, and his usage rises to 22.6%. He has had plenty of success against this Utah team, putting up at least 22 points in two of the last three meetings. He has stacked the box score when heavily relied upon, and he could put up a performance that reflects this once again tonight. Awesemo projects White to lead the Spurs in scoring, assists and steals tonight.

PG Jalen Brunson — Grades: A, A | Values: A, A

Jalen Brunson continues to be a great play with Luka Doncic out. Over the past seven games, Brunson has averaged 21.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 7.3 assists and 0.9 steals per game. With the Dallas backcourt decimated, the Mavericks will ask him to play as many minutes as he can handle tonight. Awesemo projects that to be 37.3 minutes, though Brunson has exceeded that in four of his past five games. He continues to be a high-ceiling, high-floor play.
