Dave Loughran and Josh Engleman cover the NBA DFS slate on DraftKings + FanDuel w/ players like Stephen Curry on Friday, May 14.

Tuesday night’s seven-game slate is jam packed with great NBA daily fantasy picks and value plays and elite game environments to attack. The Pelicans and Warriors will square off again after facing each other last night, and the Bucks and Nets will match up for the second straight game, after the epic duel between Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo on Sunday. While early on, it appears that we have most of the important injury news already, something is always bound to come up, so be sure to be checking back to Awesemo to see how our NBA DFS rankings and projections for both DraftKings and FanDuel adjust after any breaking news.

NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Awesemo Grades | May 4

Point Guard: Delon Wright

DraftKings Grades: C, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: C, Values: A

De’Aaron Fox is still in quarantine, Harrison Barnes (groin) is doubtful and Tyrese Haliburton (knee) has been confirmed out, creating an immense opportunity for Wright as the Kings’ starting point guard. Albeit a small sample of 61 minutes, he has posted a 25.5% usage and a 30.6% assist rate when Fox, Barnes and Haliburton have been off the floor. These significant upgrades lift Wright to 1.14 DraftKings points per minute, and Tuesday also delivers a beautiful matchup against the Thunder. Over their last 10 games, Oklahoma City ranks 24th in defensive rating, and even with arguably their top three players out of the lineup, the Kings still sport a large 116.75 point implied team total, which is the fourth highest of the slate.

Via Awesemo’s NBA DFS projections, Wright is slated for 31.7 minutes this evening, and he is contributing 33.6 DraftKings points per game when he has logged at least 30 minutes this season. Wright isn’t correctly priced on either DraftKings and FanDuel for the role he will take on tonight, and he is a free square for all formats.

NBA DFS Ownership Projection: DraftKings 43.6%, FanDuel 37.4%

Power Forward: Marvin Bagley

DraftKings Grades: C, Values: A

FanDuel Grades: C, Values: A

Bagley is another value from the Kings that simply can’t be ignored. In just his second game back from the broken hand, Bagley joined Sacramento’s starting five Sunday night and collected 40.25 DraftKings across 34 minutes in the road win over the Mavericks. Regardless of the status of Chimezie Metu (questionable, back), Bagley should start again and receive over 30 minutes against the defensively challenged Thunder.

Bagley sees a 4.3% boost to his usage when Barnes, Fox and Haliburton are off the floor, and Oklahoma City has yielded the fourth-most points in the paint and fourth-most rebounds per game this season. Bagley is producing 30.8 DraftKings points per game when given a minimum of 25 minutes this season, and he should smash value on both sites.

NBA DFS Ownership Projection: DraftKings 59.4%, FanDuel 36.0%

Point Guard: Stephen Curry

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: B

FanDuel Grades: A, Values: A

Last night Curry led the Warriors to a win over the Pelicans, finishing with 62 DraftKings points. Kelly Oubre (wrist) missed this contest and will be out again tonight, and Curry looks good again in this rematch with New Orleans on Tuesday. Not having Oubre around to steal shots from him has been a big deal for Curry this season. When Oubre has been off the floor, Curry’s usage has been a godly 37.2%, compared to 31.3% when they are on the court together.

Curry is supplying 59.8 DraftKings points per game with Oubre out of the lineup this year. and New Orleans is allergic to defending shooters on the perimeter. In 2020-21, the opposition is knocking down the third-most 3-pointers per game at the fourth-highest rate in the NBA when facing the Pelicans. From here on out, every game is important for the Warriors, and Curry should produce nothing less than 60 fantasy points.

NBA DFS Ownership Projection: DraftKings 24.2%, FanDuel 30.4%

Power Forward: Kevin Durant

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: B

FanDuel Grades: A, Values: C

Durant is a great spend on both sites, but he sticks out like a sore thumb at only $9,300 on DraftKings. He no longer is under any minute restriction and has logged 33, 36 and 40 minutes in his past three starts. In Sunday’s thriller against the Bucks, Durant had a vintage performance, tallying 42 points and 10 rebounds en route to 62 DraftKings points. The Nets stayed in Milwaukee and will go head-to-head with Giannis Antetokounmpo, again on Tuesday, and this matchup possesses a huge 242-point total and tight spread of 2 points.

This is the largest total and smallest line of Tuesday’s card, and whenever Durant has been active for a total north of 240 points since joining the Nets, he is providing 52.35 DraftKings points per game. Similar to Russell Westbrook last night, Durant’s price on DraftKings is so incorrect that it is difficult to build a lineup without him. Of all the players priced above $9,000 on DraftKings tonight, Durant is easily rating as the strongest value on the slate, per Awesemo’s NBA DFS projections.

NBA DFS Ownership Projection: DraftKings 27.8%, FanDuel 21.2%
