NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates

Julius Randle vs. Warriors: $9,000/$8,800

23.9% DraftKings Boom/27.1% FanDuel Boom

This slate has the fewest number of boom plays I can remember all season. Not only do we have a short three-game slate, there isn’t much to see in terms of pricing value. At least with Randle, his upside is always possible because of his playing time. Tom Thibodeau is up to his old tricks and playing his starters as many minutes as possible. It seems like the Knicks will struggle due to fatigue down the stretch of the season, but for now they make for great DFS picks. Randle has at least 45 DraftKings points in eight of his last nine games, so his price is a bit too low.

James Wiseman vs. Knicks: $4,500/$4,400

15.3% DraftKings Boom/30.8% FanDuel Boom

Wiseman is one of the only cheap options on today’s slate that we can count on for decent minutes. His rookie season got off to a strong start, but then he hit a slight wall. In the last couple of games, it looks like Wiseman has started to turn a corner. One thing of note from watching Warriors’ games, Draymond Green has really taken to Wiseman. He is constantly working with him on the court and is a constant coach in his ear. I think this should do wonders for Wiseman’s development. Fouls can always rear their head with the young big man, but he’s played 25 or more minutes in three of the last four games. This makes me think Golden State is making an effort to extend his minutes.

NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates

J.J. Redick vs. Pelicans: $4,000/$3,500

88.1% DraftKings Bust/93.1% FanDuel Bust

Are we coming to the end of the road for Redick? A few times this season, he ended up as a popular play, and it has yet to work out. His poor play on the court is not the only issue because it’s also leading to less playing time. Redick is starting to get squeezed out of the New Orleans rotation. In the last two games, he played just 15 and 18 minutes. Part of the reason is due to the emergence of Nickeil Alexander-Walker. He is playing well enough that he has earned playing time, and it’s cutting into Redick’s run. Despite a cheap price, there are better cheap options to turn to than Redick.
