NBA DFS Picks: Prime Time Players
James Harden: Houston Rockets at Minnesota Timberwolves
DraftKings $12,200, FanDuel $12,700Â Yahoo $57 Ownership Rating (preliminary run): DraftKings 29.6%, FanDuel 46.0% Yahoo Fantasy 47.0%
Russell Westbrook will be out on this back-to-back and Clint Capela is still in the concussion protocol. Our goal today will be to work in James Harden in the majority of our lineups. These teams both played last night, are top four with regards to pace and are allowing 105.9 points per 100 possessions which is mediocre at best. Harden has the ability to flirt with two fantasy point per minute as an actual projection tonight. Giddyup!
On the other side, last night’s birthday boy Karl Anthony Towns is very much in play at we are waiting on word of Andrew Wiggings (personal) availability. Condolences to the Wiggins family who are in Toronto after the passing of their matriarch. Town’s played 33 minutes last night but sat out the final 4:43 with the Wizards holding a commanding lead. Pairing this opposing superstar duo would be the ultimate goal.
NBA DFS Picks: Good ValueÂ
Derrick White: San Antonio Spurs vs. Portland Trailblazers
DraftKings $4,500, FanDuel $5,400, Yahoo $12 Ownership Rating (preliminary run): DraftKings 33.6%, FanDuel 40.7% Yahoo Fantasy 54.0%
Our value search is easily addressed on Saturday with Derrick White being the clear top option. DeJounte Murray is going to be sitting out on back-to-backs this season as he recovers from missing a year to a torn ACL. Bryn Forbes and of course Patty Mills are still in the picture, but we should see White in the 26-28 minute range with a tick or two of upside.
While White has topped 25 fantasy points just three times this season, but a large part of that is due to the glut of mediocre guard options for the Spurs. On a positive note, all three of those games came with Murray along side him.
NBA DFS Picks: Risky ValueÂ
Aaron Holiday: Indiana Pacers at Milwaukee Bucks
DraftKings $4,900, FanDuel $4,000, Yahoo $11 Ownership Rating (preliminary run): DraftKings 9.0%, FanDuel 45.3% Yahoo Fantasy 25.2%
The risk here is more site specific, particularly with DraftKings and FantasyDraft. It sounds like Myles Turner is going to be back after missing eight games with an ankle injury, but Malcolm Brogdon is questionable after leaving last night’s game with a back injury. Aaron Holiday has actually started the last five games and is seeing 28-30 minutes in those contests. Just keep in mind that he has topped 25 fantasy points only twice (26 and 31) so he is going to need to be dropping shots and getting a couple steals to really be a fantasy difference maker.
