NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Awesemo Grades | Jan. 25

Point Guard: Stephen Curry

DraftKings Grades: A, Values: B

FanDuel Grades: A, Values: B

In his last two starts, Curry has faced the Knicks and the Jazz, two of the NBA’s top five defenses in terms of efficiency. Despite the tough matchups, the sharpshooter has still amassed 44.75 DraftKings points per game. Now Curry will find himself in the best possible spot for a point guard, going against the 4-11 Timberwolves. Karl-Anthony Towns (COVID-19) is still quarantining, and for the season Minnesota ranks 27th in defensive efficiency and sixth in pace. Combine these factors, and no team in the association has surrendered more DraftKings points per game to opposing point guards than the Wolves this year.

We have already seen Curry exceed 60 DraftKings points twice this season, and this is the type of ceiling he has against this horrible Wolves team. Inexcusably, Curry’s price has dropped to a season-low $9,200 on DraftKings, making him an easy choice on the site.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 18.3%, FanDuel 15.8%

Point Guard: Dejounte Murray

DraftKings Grades: B, Values: A

FanDuel: Grades: B, Values: B

Just like with Curry, Murray’s DraftKings salary has dropped to a new season low for no apparent reason. Just last night, the Spurs point guard had an outstanding showing in a win over the Wizards, recording a triple-double of 46.25 DraftKings points. This is the second triple-double of his career, and he is now generating 41.1 DraftKings points per game for his last five starts. Murray’s success should absolutely continue tonight, going against a 23rd-ranked Pelican’s defense that is giving up the fourth-most DraftKings points per game to opposing point guards in 2020-21.

This Southwest divisional matchup currently carries a 223.5 point over/under and a small spread of 2.5 points. If we exclude this past Friday night against the Mavericks when Murray exited after spraining his ankle a minute into the contest, he is averaging 39.9 DraftKings points per game when the spread is under 5 and the game’s total is above 220 points this season. Murray and Curry are just too strong of values to pass up on tonight, and I will be starting most of my DraftKings lineups with the pair of point guards.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 19.7%, FanDuel 2.1%

Center: Enes Kanter

DraftKings Grades: B, Values: B

FanDuel Grades: B, Values: A

Kanter’s volatility makes him a tough pill to swallow in cash games, but his ceiling is always worth pursuing in GPPs. After two lackluster outings in a row (25.5 DraftKings points per game), the center’s ownership on both DraftKings and FanDuel should be depressed just in time for this juicy matchup against the Thunder. On a nightly basis, big men flourish in this spot, and for the season Oklahoma City is giving up the fifth-most rebounds and fourth-most point in the paint per game.

Prior to his last two, Kanter exploded for 50.75 DraftKings points across 28 minutes against the Hawks. This was his first start as the replacement center for Jusuf Nurkic (out, wrist), and Kanter has provided 33.7 DraftKings points per game when he has cracked the 20-minute mark this season. Vegas is projecting him for a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds based on his props, and Kanter is an appealing option to differentiate yourself in GPPs tonight.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 10.4%, FanDuel 10.4%

Point Guard: Kendrick Nunn

DraftKings Grades: B, Values: B

FanDuel Grades: C, Values: C

The Heat and Nets will go head-to-head tonight for the second contest of a miniseries between the clubs, and this game’s total is currently at 235.5 points. This is the largest total of this 10-game slate by a significant 8 points. You are going to want some exposure to this high-scoring affair, and Nunn is the easiest way to gain access with both Jimmy Butler (health protocols) and Tyler Herro (neck) remaining out. These two players rank second and third in points per game for Miami, and Nunn has supplied 39.25 DraftKings points per game in the last four with them sidelined.

He collected 32.25 DraftKings points against this Nets squad on Saturday, and their defense has been a complete disaster with Kyrie Irving and James Harden starting in the backcourt. The two guards are some of the best offensive basketball players on the planet, but both are serious liabilities on the defensive end, and Brooklyn has ranked dead last in defensive rating since their new big three was formed. Nunn should have no issues delivering over 5x value in this prime matchup, and he is a very valuable asset considering he is shooting-guard-eligible on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Projected NBA DFS ownership projection: DraftKings 10.5%, FanDuel 5.2%
