Yesterday we had a seven-game NBA DFS slate (reduced from eight after the Pelicans – Mavericks game was cancelled) and competing with the NCAA Football National Championship game. Personally, I watched much more of the 76ers – Hawks than Ohio State and Alabama. Key to the slate was how to handle the 76ers with Ben Simmons, Tobias Harris, Shake Milton and Seth Curry out. Let’s get right into the NBA DraftKings Lineup review.

DFS Rewind: NBA DraftKings Lineup Review | Jan. 11
The main DraftKings GPP was the NBA $500K Excellent 8’s ($100,000 to first, $8 to enter). The Excellent 8’s is usually smaller than the main DraftKings GPP, but last night it was the only game in town for a large-field NBA DK GPP. There were 73,529 entries played by 21,827 unique players, of which 16% made a profit.
The Winner
Congratulations to me, uhhuhbro, for having some run good and taking down this GPP by 0.25 points. I played 150 lineups and cashed 78, even though I rostered 69% Danny Green (2x) and 55% Mike Scott (3x). This lineup used two 76ers, the most popular one (Tyrese Maxey 76.9%) and one of the least popular (Isaiah Joe 12.9%).
The winning lineup used all $50,000 team salary and had a cumulative team ownership of 164.1%:

Salary and Ownership
Six of the top 50 finishers used $49,700 team salary or less. Here are the top salaries used last night:
- $50,000 | 46%
- $49,900 | 23%
- $49,800 | 12%
- $49,700 | 7%
- $49,600 | 4%
Cumulative team ownership on the top 50 was grouped in the 150-170% with a couple of outliers.
The most popular optimal lineup was played 188 times and came in at 248.6% cumulative team ownership. Featuring five 76ers players and Cameron Johnson, it did not cash:
The 150-Maxers
One hundred twenty-one 150-maxers entered 18,150 lineups, making up 24.7% of entries in this tournament. Twenty-nine made a profit, taking first, third, sixth, seventh and eighth. Nine 150-maxers cashed fewer than 20 lineups and one 150-maxer reserved 150 entries and did not enter lineups, the second time we have seen that this season.
Miscellaneous
Boom of the slate has to go to Carmelo Anthony, who provided 40.25 fantasy points (9.6x) for $4,200 at 2.4% ownership. Bust of the slate was Green, who put up 9.25 fantasy points (2x) for $4,700 at 36.6% ownership.
Four hundred twenty-nine lineups were reserved and not played. The lowest-owned lineup that cashed (min-cashed) featured a cumulative team ownership of 27.5%:
The lowest salary team that cashed (min-cashed) used $47,500 team salary:
The best lineup by a single entry player (trae1357) scored a 320.5, good for 14th place.
The best possible lineup you could have played last night scored a 366.25 while using a team salary of $49,900. This lineup would have won by 41.25 fantasy points:
