Last night we had a fun 10-game NBA DFS slate. Stop me if you have heard this before but the main DraftKings GPP was called the NBA $500K Fadeaway ($100,000 to first, $15 to enter). It was a more interesting slate with one late-night hammer game; even though it was the Utah Jazz, the closers were pulled with 4 minutes left, stopping the comeback drive of a herd of lineups and making the winning lineup a late night hammerless winner. Let’s get right into the NBA DraftKings Lineup review.

DFS Rewind: NBA DraftKings Lineup Review | Jan. 29
In this NBA DraftKings GPP, there were 39,215 total entries from 14,036 DFS players, 1,769 (12.6%) of which made a profit. 87.4% of DFS players who entered this GPP lost money.
The Winner
One of the things I appreciate about the DFS community is how serious everyone is and a general level of classiness that you just don’t see in most circles. Anyway, congratulations to FatsoFat6969, who took this GPP down; he entered 10 lineups and cashed six. The winning lineup scored a 349.5, taking down this GPP by 3.25 points. It used $49,900 salary and had a cumulative team ownership of just 95.8%. All told, he entered $150 in lineups and profited $99,985. Nothing weird about this lineup, three lower owned selections but nothing off the board. I was surprised how low owned Joel Embiid was on both sites.

Nine of the top 50 finishers used less salary than $49,700. Team salaries were lower than normal, with a 20% drop in max salary used lineups from the last slate reviewed. Here are the top salaries used last night:

- $49,800 | 12%
- $49,700 | 6%

The most popular optimal lineup was only played 33 times, using $49,700 team salary and a cumulative team ownership of 237.8%, it scored a 270 and did not cash.
The 150-Maxers
Seventy-two 150-maxers entered 10,800 lineups, making up 27.5% of entries in this tournament. Nineteen made a profit, taking second, eighth and ninth place. Only two 150-maxers cashed 20 lineups or fewer and one cashed 145 lineups!
The most profitable 150-maxer was soobv, cashing 98 of 150 for a total total profit in this GPP of $42,496.91. He used 56 different players, and his best lineup scored a 337.5, good for second place:
Miscellaneous
Boom of the slate goes to Theo Maledon, the $3,400 PG for OKC enjoying more playing time and usage with George Hill out. Maledon put up 36.75 fantasy points for 10.8x and was rostered in 14.9% of lineups. Special mention for Hassan Whiteside, who put up a 10.7x, scoring 32.25 fantasy points for $3,000 at 1.3% ownership. Bust is a technically, Joe Ingles who started off hot but only returned 22 fantasy points (4.7x) for $4,700 at 48.3% ownership. Special mention to Ben Simmons (3.6x at 16.6%).
Two hundred and twenty-seven lineups were reserved and not played, including one hundred from a single player. The lowest-owned lineup that cashed (min-cashed) featured a cumulative team ownership of a stunningly low 20.7%:
The lowest-salary team that cashed (min-cashed) is from recent winner NILKNARF, who used $46,400 team salary:
The best entry from a single bullet took fourth place:
The best lineup possible would have scored a 373.75, winning this GPP by 24.25 points.
