Last night we had a two game NBA DFS slate, with the main GPP being the NBA $1M Fadeaway Special ($200,000 to first). Spags and Greg spoke yesterday on the Live Before Lock show about the boring GPP names this season and I agree. Â This was an interesting slate with Nicola Jokic the only real spend up player and devoid of the value bonanza we are used to on most slates during these times. Let’s get right into the NBA DraftKings Lineup review.

DFS Rewind: NBA DraftKings Lineup Review | Jan. 19
In this NBA DraftKings GPP, there were 59,419 entries from 24,498 DFS players, 4,768 (19.5%) of which made a profit. Entry fee was a steep $18, and 6,000 seats DraftKings had made available went unused.
The Winner
Congratulations to Astronaut42, who took this GPP down with a single bullet, turning $18 into $200,000. It is pretty amazing that in a 59,419-entry field Astronaut42 was able to construct a unique lineup while using all $50,000 of salary and rostering no one less than 14.8% owned. In the end, it was 16.8% owned Monte Morris putting up 27.5 fantasy points that made the difference. This lineup scored a 306 and won the GPP by 2.75 points.

Salary and Ownership
Seven of the top 50 finishers used less salary than $49,700. Team salaries were lower than normal which makes since on a two game slate with players trying to get different. Here are the top salaries used last night:
- $50,000 | 39%
- $49,900 | 23%
- $49,800 | 15%
- $49,700 | 9%
- $49,600 | 6%
Cumulative team ownership on this slate was concentrated between 255-300%. The most popular optimal lineup was played a staggering 486 times, including multiples times by many well-known players. Using $49,900 team salary and a cumulative team ownership of 338.8%, it scored a 240.25 and did not cash:
The 150-Maxers
Eighty 150-maxers entered 12,000 lineups, making up 20.1% of entries in this tournament. Sixteen (20%) made a profit, taking third, fourth, sixth and seventh. Only eight 150-maxers cashed 20 lineups or fewer.
The most profitable 150-maxer was me, uhhuhbro. Cashing 88 of 150, total profit was $68,997. My highest-scoring lineup used $49,900 team salary and 257.3% cumulative team ownership. It scored a 300.75 and took third place:
I believe the difference between this and the winner was Joe Ingles instead of Morris.
Miscellaneous
Boom of the slate goes to Paul Millsap, who put up 40.5 fantasy points (9x) for $4,500 at 14.8% ownership. Bust of the slate was a close race, but George Hill edged out Jamal Murray. Hill put up 9.5 fantasy points (2.2x) for $4,300 at 41.5% ownership.
One hundred twenty-four lineups were reserved and not played. The lowest-owned lineup that cashed (min-cashed) featured a cumulative team ownership of 141.7%:
The lowest-salary team that cashed (min-cashed) used $45,400 team salary:
The second-place winner was also a single bullet and deserves a shoutout. Congrats to urbuddy761 for landing on this lineup and turning $18 into $100,000:
I am happy to report that the nuts were finally played last night. All it takes us as a community is a two-game slate and 59,000 chances. There were two ways to get to 306 last night — the winning lineup and this one:
