We aren’t going anywhere and hope you feel the same.

FanDuel NBA DFS Sim Sports Rules

  • Players are randomly assigned stats from a game they played during the 2019-2020 season.
  • Only players who have scored fantasy points in at least 15 games will be included in the pool.
  • The opponent matchups in each slate are irrelevant for the simulations.
  • Only games where players scored more than zero points will be available to be assigned stats, No DNPs or Late Scratches.
  • Scoring Example: LeBron James draws a 23 – he will get assigned the stats and Fantasy Points from the 23rd game he played this season: 65.4. Each player will be assigned a different random game.
  • Again listed matchups do not matter.

NBA DFS Picks: Point Guard

Luka Doncic

Doncic has played 56 games this season and has scored at least 60 FanDuel points in 17 of those games, giving him a 30.3 percent chance of scoring at least 60 points tonight. By comparison, Russell Westbrook is only $500 less expensive and has scored at least 60 FanDuel points in only 22.2 percent of his games this season.

Kyrie Irving

Irving offers an unusual opportunity that we can take advantage of because he has only played 20 games this season. He has eclipsed 60 FanDuel points in six of those games, giving him a 30 percent chance of doing so tonight. He is $1,100 less expensive than Doncic.

Kemba Walker

Walker stands out as the top mid-range point guard as he has scored at least 50 FanDuel points in 13.7 percent of his games this season. The only other point guard below $9,000 in salary with 50 FanDuel points in more than 10 percent of his games is Ricky Rubio at 10.5 percent.

Reggie Jackson

Jackson may not be an obvious play since he missed most of the season with the Pistons and then went to the Clippers where he has a much smaller role. He has only played a total of 23 games this season, however, so his games with Detroit are weighted heavily. Jackson has a 17.4 percent chance of scoring at least 35 FanDuel points tonight at only $4,500.

Shabazz Napier

Napier is also only $4,500 and has a 17.6 percent chance of scoring at least 35 points thanks to his time with Minnesota when Jeff Teague was sidelined and a few big games with the Wizards.

Coby White

White is one of the most obvious plays as he was on fire before the suspension of the NBA season. While he is a good play at only $4,200, it is worth noting that he only has a 15.4 percent chance of scoring more than 35 FanDuel points compared to 17.4 percent for Jackson and 17.6 percent for Napier. It is a small edge but one worth taking if you are focusing solely on upside. The argument in favor of rostering White over Napier or Jackson is that he has a much higher floor and his chance of exceeding 35 fantasy points is similar.

NBA DFS Picks: Shooting Guard

James Harden

Harden has a massive 38.7 percent chance of exceeding 60 FanDuel points tonight thanks to several games without Russell Westbrook, as well as a hot start to the season before teams changed the way that they were defending him.

Zach LaVine

LaVine is affordably priced at $7,900 as his overall season average doesn’t accurately reflect the upside that he offers. He has exceeded 50 FanDuel points in 15 percent of his games this season.

Jordan McRae

McRae’s brief stint as the primary scorer for the Wizards without Bradley Beal comes into play tonight as McRae has only played a total of 37 games this season. He has exceeded 30 FanDuel points in seven of them and 40 FanDuel points in four of them, giving him an extremely high ceiling for a $4,100 price tag.

NBA DFS Picks: Small Forward

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Giannis is the best per-minute producer in fantasy basketball, so it isn’t surprising that he has exceeded 60 FanDuel points in 34.4 percent of his games this season.

Jonathan Isaac

Isaac put together some huge games this season thanks for FanDuel’s scoring system weighing blocks and steals so heavily. He has only played 32 total games and has exceeded 40 FanDuel points in 31.3 percent of them with a high of 58.5 points. For comparison, the four players priced closest to him are Kelly Oubre, Gordon Hayward, Will Barton and Danilo Gallinari. Oubre has eclipsed 40 FanDuel points 26.8 percent of the time with a high score of 59.5 points while Hayward has scored more than 40 fantasy points in 28.9 percent of his games with a ceiling of 57.4. Barton has scored more than 40 points 15.5 percent of the time with a ceiling of 54.9 points and Gallinari has exceeded 40 points 10.7 percent of the time with a high of 45.2 FanDuel points.

Tim Hardaway, Jr.

Hardaway looks like a strong small forward value at only $4,500 as he has exceeded 35 FanDuel points in 17.6 percent of his games this season.

Eric Gordon

Gordon is a high-risk, high-reward play as most of his games this year have been awful, but he gives you a three percent chance of scoring 68.7 FanDuel points for $4,000.

NBA DFS Picks: Power Forward

Kawhi Leonard

Leonard is one of the best plays for a couple of reasons. First, he hasn’t played as many games as most other superstars so there is a greater chance of getting one of his best games. Second, he played a lot of games without Paul George, so he has a number of exceptionally high scoring games. While Leonard offers about a 17.5 percent chance at more than 60 fantasy points tonight, there is greater than a 38 percent chance that he exceeds 50 FanDuel points at $9,400.

Kristaps Porzingis

Porzingis is another player that checks off several boxes that we are looking for. He has missed time this season, causing his total games played to be lower than most similarly priced players. He also is part of a superstar duo where the other star has missed several games this season, allowing for an extremely high ceiling (75.6 points in this case). Porzingis is only $7,900 but he has a 29.4 percent chance of scoring more than 50 fantasy points.

Christian Wood

Wood is a high-risk, high-reward play at $4,900. He has an extremely high ceiling as he has scored more than 40 points in 16.1 percent of his games this season. He also has an extremely low floor as he has scored fewer than 15 points in 27.4 percent of his games this season.

NBA DFS Picks: Center

Nikola Jokic and DeAndre Ayton

Jokic and Ayton stand out as the two centers to pay up for. Jokic has scored at least 50 FanDuel points in 31.8 percent of his games this season while Ayton has topped 50 points in 30 percent of his and is available for $900 less. Nikola Vucevic is a fade (if we assume similar ownership) as he has eclipsed 50 points only 22.2 percent of the time in this price range.

Thomas Bryant

Bryant is a high-upside play since he missed so many games this season. He has about a 13 percent chance of exceeding 40 fantasy points at $5,000 but he also has a very low floor since he was a on a minutes restriction for a lot of games this season.
