NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Boom Candidates
Ben Simmons vs. Thunder: $8,600/$8,300
23.8% DraftKings Boom/39.8% FanDuel Boom
Joel Embiid will miss his second straight game due to knee pain. This opening up a ton of value on the Sixers, and Simmons should be among the largest beneficiaries. He was one assist shy of a triple-double yesterday after scoring 11 points and grabbing 16 rebounds. While his shots did not go up yesterday, it’s tough to imagine Shake Milton will go 10-for-18 from the floor again, so Simmons should be asked to score a bit more in a good matchup today.
Dwight Howard vs. Thunder: $4,800/$4,400
51.3% DraftKings Boom/66.8% FanDuel Boom
For the second day in a row, Howard has the highest probability on the slate to boom. He started for Embiid yesterday, finishing with 8points, 18 rebounds, three assists and three blocks. All signs point to him dominating the paint again today. The Thunder do not have someone to control the paint this season, with Steven Adams gone. Al Horford will also be out for Oklahoma City, so Howard will likely be matched up with Isaiah Roby. He has two inches and 35 pounds over Roby.

Isaiah Roby vs. 76ers: $4,200/$4,200
27.1% DraftKings Boom/33.2% FanDuel Boom
While Roby should be an easy matchup for Howard, the opposite can also be true. With Horford out, Roby enters the starting lineup as an unconventional five. He is undersized, but he is capable of knocking down 3’s. Dwight is not going to follow him out to the perimeter, so expect some open shots for him today. Roby will also rack up a few rebounds and assists, which is all that is really needed at his cheap price. If he adds any defensive stats, that’ll be the cherry on top. Roby has averaged about a fantasy point per minute over his past two games, and Awesemo has him projected for 25.5 minutes today.
NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates
Aaron Holiday vs. Clippers: $4,200/$4,400
79.0% DraftKings Bust/73.4% FanDuel Bust
With Victor Oladipo gone and Caris LeVert yet to join the Pacers, one would think Holiday would benefit from this situation. While he had one good game, it has looked like an outlier. Holiday has a low usage rate, and this is only made worse when he joins the starting lineup. He should come off the bench today, but he’ll take single-digit shots, while not getting many rebounds or assists. It’s always an uphill battle for him to hit value.
