Jimmy Butler, SG/SF, Miami Heat

DraftKings Points Rating: 95 | FanDuel Points Rating: 96

Awesemo’s NBA projections feature Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic at the top, but they are joined by a somewhat surprising name. Butler has not really been considered a fantasy superstar prior to this season, but he is in the midst of a fantastic year. He is averaging 23.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game and he is also among the league leaders in steals. Add it all up, and Butler is averaging 1.28 FanDuel points per minute.

Butler is currently listed as questionable with a tailbone injury, but he stands out as one of the top studs of the day if he is active. Tyler Herro has already been ruled out, and Butler should be asked to help pick up the slack. He is projected similarly to guys like Jokic and Doncic, but he is significantly cheaper across the industry. If Butler is unable to suit up, Kyle Lowry and Bam Adebayo would become the focal points of the Heat’s offense.

Josh Giddey, SG/SF, Oklahoma City Thunder

DraftKings Value Rating: 88 | FanDuel Value Rating: 93

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was able to return to the Thunder’s lineup in their last game, which put a damper on Giddey’s fantasy appeal. Giddey got to serve more as the Thunder’s primary playmaker in his absence, racking up eight assists in back-to-back games, but his assist numbers decreased with Gilgeous-Alexander back in the lineup. Still, the idea that Giddey is not playable with Gilgeous-Alexander active is clearly false. He is averaging 1.00 DraftKings point per minute while sharing the court with Alexander this season, which is still an excellent number for his price tag.

He should benefit from an outstanding matchup against the Rockets on Monday. The Rockets have been a fantasy goldmine this season, ranking first in pace and 20th in defensive efficiency. The Thunder are currently implied for 107.5 points, which represents a sizable increase from their regular-season average (99). Giddey leads all players in optimal lineup rate on DraftKings (22.9%) and has a 32.3% optimal lineup rate on FanDuel according to the Boom/Bust Tool.

Keldon Johnson, PF/SF, San Antonio Spurs

DraftKings Value Rating: 82 | FanDuel Value Rating: 88

Johnson could be a nice source of value today for the Spurs, who have already ruled out Doug McDermott and Devin Vassell. Johnson is averaging 0.90 FanDuel points per minute this season, and he should see a nice spike in playing time with both players out of the lineup. Awesemo projects him for 35.5 minutes, and that should be more than enough to pay off his current salary.

Johnson is expected to be one of the most popular players on FanDuel, but his ownership projection is very reasonable on DraftKings. That gives him a positive leverage rating in the Boom/Bust Tool. Johnson is also providing value in the player prop market. The Awesemo Player Prop tool gives him a 70% chance of hitting the over on his scoring prop, making it one of the most exploitable wagers on the slate.
