Jalen Brunson, PG/SG, Dallas Mavericks

DraftKings Value Rating: 100 | FanDuel Value Rating: 100

Finding value on Saturday’s six-game slate is not going to be an issue. There are plenty of strong options to consider paying down for, but Jalen Brunson is easily the best of the bunch. The Mavericks are going to be without arguably their two best players in Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, so Brunson will be asked to carry a massive load. He’s increased his usage rate to 29.1% with both players off the court this season, and he leads the team with a 33.7% assist rate. That has unsurprisingly led to plenty of fantasy success, with Brunson averaging 1.20 DraftKings points per minute.

Not only does Brunson stand out from a value perspective using our NBA Projections, but he should also contribute plenty of raw points. We only have five players projected for more fantasy points on Saturday’s slate.

With that in mind, it’s very tough to get away from Brunson. He’s projected for massive ownership across the industry, but he’s still showing up as positive leveraged in the Boom/Bust Probability tool. He owns an 88.0% boom rate and a 1.3% bust rate, so he’s the definition of “good chalk.”

Dewayne Dedmon, C, Miami Heat

DraftKings Value Rating: 100 | FanDuel Value Rating: 69

Dewayne Dedmon has been priced up aggressively on FanDuel, but he remains extremely underpriced on DraftKings. His $3,700 salary is simply too cheap with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo out of the lineup. He’s played five games without Adebayo this season, and he’s averaged 25.1 minutes and 24.05 DraftKings points in those contests.

Dedmon doesn’t have nearly the same upside as Brunson, but he still stands out as an excellent option using the Boom/Bust Probability tool. Dedmon has a 63.6% boom rate and just a 5.7% bust rate, and his floor projection of 24.6 would still be more than enough to pay off his current price tag.

Dedmon is also providing plenty of value in the player prop market. His rebound prop is set at just 8.5, and the Awesemo Player Prop tool gives him a 74% chance of hitting the over on that number.

Dennis Smith Jr., Portland Trail Blazers, PG

DraftKings Value Rating: 99 | FanDuel Value Rating: 97

The Blazers are going to be extremely thin at point guard on Saturday. Damian Lillard remains out of the lineup, and Anfernee Simons will join him on the sidelines. Simons finished with 35.6 minutes two games ago, so his absence opens up plenty of playing time.

Dennis Smith Jr. figures to be the primary beneficiary. He played nearly 19 minutes in the Blazers’ last game, and he started the second half after Simons got injured. Smith has historically been excellent on a per-minute basis, so the thought of him getting 20+ minutes is appealing. He’s averaged 1.02 FanDuel points per minute so far this season.

Smith provides a wider range of outcomes than guys like Brunson and Dedmon, but there’s no denying his ceiling. He should also check in with slightly lower ownership.
