Dream11 NBA Picks: Awesemo Grades | April 5

PG Fred VanVleet – 17 Credits, 44.20 Projected Fantasy Points

The Raptors get a fine matchup against the Wizards, who run the NBA’s fastest pace by a wide margin. VanVleet was only needed for a grand total of 19 minutes in the team’s last game, a 53-point romp of the Warriors. In addition, the Raptors had two full days off before tonight’s game. VanVleet should get a ton of minutes on the rested wheels. Prior to Friday’s win, he played at least 38 minutes in six of the previous eight games.

According to Awesemo’s projections, VanVleet is ranked slightly lower than De’Aaron Fox as the best point guard on the slate. However, the difference is a few decimal points, and Fox costs 20 credits compared to VanVleet’s 17-credit price tag.

SG Anthony Edwards – 9 Credits, 38.54 Projected Fantasy Points
SG Jordan McLaughlin – 8 Credits, 36.42 Projected Fantasy Points

Everyone is probably thrilled about the thought of rostering two Timberwolves. But look at it from the perspective of who they’re facing tonight. It is always a hopeful feeling when picking on the Kings. While they run the 10th-fastest pace, Sacramento also ranks dead last in defensive efficiency.

Edwards, a candidate to win the NBA’s Rookie of the Year award, is getting all of the minutes he can handle while adjusting to life in the pros. The Wolves want to see what they have in the No. 1 overall pick, and Edwards is making the most of the opportunity. For only 9 credits, he has the green light to take any and all shot attempts in a great matchup.

Speaking of minutes, Edwards’ teammate McLaughlin has fallen into those as well. In each of the last two games he has played 33 and 42 minutes — both Minnesota blowout losses. Tonight’s game should be a lot closer, but McLaughlin made a case for more time on the court by almost triple-doubling on Saturday (12 points, nine assists, six rebounds).

PF Julius Randle – 17.5 Credits, 42.49 Projected Fantasy Points

Everyone’s eyes will be on the Nets – Knicks matchup tonight. Randle is one of the options with the most appeal, as Awesemo’s projections have him projected as the 10th-best player on the slate. In his last four games against Brooklyn, Randle has averaged 29.5 points and 10.5 rebounds, adding 3.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Given the Nets’ propensity to run up and down the floor at a frenetic pace, Randle will benefit from the tempo. That is not to mention that it increases the chances of him getting more blocks and steals.

C Moses Brown – 7.5 Credits, 32.81 Projected Fantasy Points

Dream11 still hasn’t priced Brown to match his production. He runs $7,100 on DraftKings and $6,800 on FanDuel, so the 7.5-credit price tag on this platform is too good to pass up. Brown comes with some risk, as he has been a no-show on the offensive end. However, at this low cost on Dream11, the risk isn’t nearly as lopsided. He does get plenty of rebounds, with at least 12 in seven of the last 10 games, and Brown is getting minutes for a team that is trying to lose games.
