Monday night presents a huge nine-game fantasy basketball slate. As always, be sure to watch the Awesemo NBA Starting Lineups page closely today for updates on each team before making your NBA picks today. Below are some NBA daily fantasy basketball picks that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.

Boom/Bust NBA Daily Fantasy Projections & Picks

Boom: DeMar DeRozan: $10,200 DraftKings/$10,400 FanDuel

24% DraftKings Boom/22% FanDuel Boom

Zach Lavine (knee), Alex Caruso (wrist) and Lonzo Ball (knee) will be inactive for the second straight game and in this same situation Saturday, DeRozan posted 54 DraftKings points across 40 minutes against the Thunder. In the 475 minutes he has played with those three guards off the floor this season, DeRozan’s usage has increased 6.1 percentage points to a team-high 37.3%. Additionally, His assist rate has risen 4.3 percentage points to 28%, which is also a team-high for this situation.

DeRozan contributes 1.3 DraftKings points per minute with these hefty rates and tonight he will be facing his former team in the Spurs. San Antonio ranks sixth in pace this season and this game’s total is the highest on slate (234.5 points). Plus, the Bulls’ implied team total is the third largest on the board (119 points). Awesemo’s NBA Boom/Bust Tool is giving DeRozan a ceiling near 60 fantasy points in this excellent spot and he is the best stud to build around with the Bulls so shorthanded.

Boom: Quentin Grimes: $3,000 DraftKings/$5,200 FanDuel

53% DraftKings Boom/9% FanDuel Boom

Grimes is a free square on DraftKings tonight at a bare minimum $3,000. With R.J. Barrett (ankle) sidelined for the past two games, Grimes has been the interim starting small forward for the Knicks. He underachieved in the first of these two starts with only 12.75 DraftKings points in a difficult matchup against the Warriors, but then rebounded with a career-high 35.5 DraftKings points Saturday against the Blazers.

Grimes logged at least 31 minutes in each of these past two games, and Awesemo NBA DFS projections have him for 31.2 minutes tonight against the Thunder with Barrett ruled out. In the 425 minutes Grimes has played with Barrett off the court, he is generating 0.83 DraftKings points per minute. Furthermore, in the seven games Grimes has cracked the 25-minute mark this season, he has supplied 24.5 DraftKings points per game. While Grimes is going to be the chalk of the night on DraftKings, eating the chalk and differentiating yourself in different spots of your lineup is the right move.

Boom: Reggie Jackson: $6,000 DraftKings/$6,400 FanDuel

29% DraftKings Boom/17% FanDuel Boom

While Jackson is facing the Warriors and their league-best defense, he cannot be ignored tonight with Norman Powell (foot) unavailable. Paul George (elbow) is also still sidelined and with these two high usage players out Saturday, Jackson delivered 48.75 DraftKings points in a team-high 40 minutes against the Mavs. Take Powell and George off the court this season and Jackson leads the Clippers with a 28.4% usage rate, which is a 2.2-percentage-point upgrade from his season average.

Jackson’s assist rate also rises 3.9 percentage points to a team-high 26.1%. This translates into 1 DraftKings points per minute and on BetMGM, Jackson’s props are set at 19.5 points, 5.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds. Before defensive stats and bonuses, this is already 30.5 DraftKings points for Jackson. While he is a strong target on both sites, Jackson is rating as a top-10 option on the slate in terms of boom score at a very affordable $6,000 on DraftKings.

Boom: Tre Mann: $4,300 DraftKings/$3,800 FanDuel

28% DraftKings Boom/35% FanDuel Boom

Tonight the Thunder will be missing their two top scorers in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (ankle) and Lu Dort (shoulder). In the lone start Mann has made without these two players this season, he finished with 26.75 DraftKings points across 32 minutes against the Kings. With Gilgeous-Alexander and Dort off the floor this season, Mann leads Oklahoma City with a 23.7% usage rate and provides 0.82 DraftKings points per minute in a sample size of 332 minutes.

Going against a Knicks’ club that ranks 28th in pace is less ideal, but Mann should still effortlessly beat his cheap price tags and is simply underpriced for the role he will handle tonight. Particularly on DraftKings, where the Awesemo fantasy basketball projections are projecting Mann to come with essentially no ownership, he is a terrific gamble for GPPs.
