High-Upside NBA Daily Fantasy Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel Lineups Tonight | 2/7/22

On tap for Monday is a five-game NBA slate. As always, watch the Awesemo NBA Starting Lineups page closely, specifically for the statuses of Jimmy Butler (toe), Zach LaVine (back) and Jordan Clarkson (knee). Below are some NBA daily fantasy options that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.

Boom/Bust NBA Daily Fantasy Projections & Picks

Boom: Donovan Mitchell: $8,400 DraftKings/$8,500 FanDuel

21.7% DraftKings Boom/15.8% FanDuel Boom

Mitchell is very underpriced on both DraftKings and FanDuel tonight. Making his return from an eight-game absence due to a concussion, Mitchell posted 42.8 DraftKings points in only 22 minutes in Friday’s win over the Nets. Rudy Gobert (calf) missed this win and will remain sidelined Monday. Mitchell has scored at least 42 DraftKings points in three of the five starts he has made without Gobert this season. Furthermore, in the 611 minutes Mitchell has played with Gobert off the court this season, the guard has handled a team-high 33.2% usage rate, which is a slight uptick from his season average, resulting in 1.32 DraftKings points per minute.

Hosting the Knicks tonight, the Jazz boast the second-highest implied team total on the slate with 114 points and this contest’s total is also the third-largest on the board at 219.5 points. Mitchell has supplied 44 DraftKings points per game in totals of at least 215 points over the last two seasons and is one of the best high-end values on the slate at sub $9,000 salaries on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Boom: Deandre Ayton: $7,200 DraftKings/$7,600 FanDuel

11.9% DraftKings Boom/7.9% FanDuel Boom

In Ayton’s third start removed from the eight-game absence due to a sprained ankle, the big man destroyed the Wizards on Saturday, finishing with a double-double worth 48.5 DraftKings points in only 23.6 minutes of work. Ayton logged 15 first-half minutes in the blowout win, putting him on pace for 30 minutes if this contest stayed competitive. For the season, Ayton is providing 1.2 DraftKings points per minute with a 22% usage rate.

Tonight, he gets a gorgeous matchup against the Bulls, who have slipped to 26th in defensive rating since the start of the new year. Additionally, they have been very vulnerable inside during this time, allowing the third-most points in the paint and this is the second leg of a back-to-back for Chicago. Phoenix boasts the highest implied team total on the slate in this spot with 117.75 points and this tilt’s total is also the largest of the night at 227.5 points. Having a share of the Suns should be a priority tonight, and Ayton is the best way to gain access from a tournament perspective, with Awesemo projecting the center for low ownership on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Latest NBA DFS Content

Boom: Montrezl Harrell: $4,700 DraftKings/$4,900 FanDuel

17.6% DraftKings Boom/15.3% FanDuel Boom

Bradley Beal (wrist) will be inactive tonight and with the shooting guard out of the lineup this season, Harrell has generated 27 DraftKings points per game in a sample size of 11 contests. In the 554 minutes he has played with Beal off the court, Harrell’s usage has risen 2.8 percentage points to 24.4%, lifting him to 1.2 DraftKings points per minute. Harrell should handle right around 25 minutes off the bench tonight and exceed five-times value even in this tough spot against the Heat, who rank sixth in defensive efficiency. Harrell was efficient in his first two meetings of the season against this Miami club, scoring 27.5 DraftKings points per game.

He is rating as a top-10 value on the slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel in Awesemo’s NBA DFS projections, and is a necessary play for this short slate that is lacking appealing cheap options.

Bust: Stephen Curry: $10,500 DraftKings/$9,800 FanDuel

54% DraftKings Bust/52.5% FanDuel Bust

Particularly at $10,500 on DraftKings, Curry is way overpriced for life with Klay Thompson. In his first 10 starts of the season with the shooting guard active, Curry has scored less than 50 DraftKings points on six occasions. Plus, in the 183 minutes the two have shared the floor together, Curry’s usage has dropped a dramatic 9.8 percentage points to a modest 20.6%. Monday also presents a less than an ideal matchup with the Thunder, who rank 11th in defensive efficiency. This tilt’s total is the second-lowest on the slate with 210.5 points and there are real blowout concerns, with Golden State the only double-digit favorite of the night with -12.5.

Curry finding his ceiling in this situation is very unlikely and forcing him into your player pool for tonight is an unnecessary move.
