High-Upside NBA Daily Fantasy Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel Lineups Tonight | 1/27/22

There is a tiny NBA fantasy slate today, with two games on the main slate. With this, there are new injuries gamers will need to pay attention to. Below are some NBA daily fantasy options that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.

Boom: Tyrese Maxey — $6,400 DraftKings/$5,800 FanDuel

25.1% DraftKings Boom/33.4% FanDuel Boom

Tyrese Maxey will continue to play a large role for the 76ers, with both Seth Curry and Shake Milton out of the lineup. He also gets a positive matchup tonight against the Lakers. Maxey has played over 40 minutes in two of his past three games. While he is projected for just over 36 minutes tonight, the Awesemo Boom/Bust Tool gives him the best overall boom percentage on FanDuel and the fourth-highest on DraftKings tonight. The minutes and role make him a safe play, but he also has a high ceiling, given the matchup.

Boom: Joel Embiid — $11,400 DraftKings/$11,400 FanDuel

26.9% DraftKings Boom/20.5% FanDuel Boom

It is no surprise that on a two-game slate Awesemo’s projections have Joel Embiid as the top overall scorer. However, the Awesemo Boom/Bust Tool also gives him the second-best overall boom percentage on both DraftKings and FanDuel. He faces off against the Lakers tonight, which is a matchup he certainly can take advantage of. Embiid has scored 28 or more points in five straight matchups against the Lakers, which is five of his six career matchups against them. He is also coming off a stretch in which he has scored 40 or more points in three of his past four games. Look for him to keep the strong playing going tonight.

Awesemo projects him as the top overall player on the slate tonight.

Boom: Andrew Wiggins — $5,700 DraftKings/$6,000 FanDuel

Tonight, Andrew Wiggins gets to face off against his former team. Obviously, Minnesota’s focus will be on Steph Curry. With Klay Thompson seeing his minutes rising, this also draws attention and helps to space the floor for Wiggins. At a reasonable price with a little extra motivation tonight, the Awesemo Boom/Bust Tool gives Wiggins the sixth-best boom percentage on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Bust: Anthony Davis — $9,800 DraftKings/$8,900 FanDuel

85% DraftKings Bust/69.3% FanDuel Bust

Anthony Davis returned to the Lakers lineup last game and is probable to play tonight. However, he should be avoided. In his return, Davis played only 25 minutes, finishing with eight points, two rebounds and two assists. Davis is not playing enough minutes to be worth his salary. He also was not efficient in his limited playing time, giving us no reason to have exposure to him on this slate.
