NBA Daily Fantasy Projections & DFS Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel 2/1

On tap for Tuesday night is a seven-game slate that is filled with appealing studs and value plays for both DraftKings and FanDuel. Below are some NBA daily fantasy options that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.

Boom/Bust NBA Daily Fantasy Projections & Picks

Boom: Spencer Dinwiddie: $5,900 DraftKings/$6,300 FanDuel

Bradley Beal (wrist) will be inactive tonight and in the nine contests the shooting guard has missed this season, Dinwiddie has been the primary beneficiary, scoring 45.5 DraftKings points in 36.4 minutes per game. With Beal off the court, Dinwiddie’s usage rises 4.8 percentage points and his assist rate skyrockets 8.8 percentage points to a team-high 37.1%, resulting in 1.15 DraftKings points per minute. Tonight, Dinwiddie will be competing in the second-highest total of the night against the Bucks (229.5 points), who rank ninth in pace this season. In this up-tempo spot, the guard’s props are set at 16.5 points, 7.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds on BetMGM, which is already 29 DraftKings points before defensive stats and bonuses are credited.

Dinwiddie has topped 40 DraftKings points in six of the nine starts he has made sans Beal this season and is a value that can be deployed with full confidence for this seven-game slate.

Boom: Jordan Poole: $5,500 DraftKings/$5,300 FanDuel

Given tonight is the Warriors’ second game in two nights, they will be resting Klay Thompson. Plus, Draymond Green (calf) will remain sidelined. For the last three occasions these two players have been inactive, Poole has started and produced 30.4 DraftKings points in 31.3 minutes per game. In the 530 minutes he has played with Green and Thompson off the court this season, his usage has increased 2.8 percentage points to 27.3%, which ranks second only to Stephen Curry for this situation. Poole also handles a 21% assist rate, which is a three percentage point upgrade from his season average. Poole supplies one DraftKings points per minute with these rates and he should receive right around 30 minutes tonight against the Spurs. This season, San Antonio ranks 19th in defensive efficiency and fifth in pace. The Warriors carry the fifth-highest implied team total on the slate in this plus spot (112.75) and this tilt’s total is also the fourth largest on the board (223 points).

All things considered, Poole is far too cheap on both DraftKings and FanDuel and possesses a top-five Boom score for both sites in Awesemo’s Boom Bust Tool.

Update: In addition to Thompson and Green, the Warriors have also ruled out Curry (toe), Andrew Wiggins (knee), Otto Porter Jr. (rest) and Neman Bjelica (back), making Poole an even stronger option than before. In the 346 minutes the guard has played without those six players since the start of last season, Poole has scored 1.14 DraftKings PPM thanks to a team-high 29% usage rate. Plus, he has been active sans Curry, Green and Thompson twice this season and is averaging 33.9 DraftKings points per game for those occasions. Awesemo’s projections now have Poole slated for over 40 DraftKings points tonight, and he sports a top-three Boom score for both DraftKings and FanDuel. Also, Gary Payton III and Jonathan Kuminga should enter the starting lineup and have to be considered with the Warriors down to nine bodies. In Awesemo’s Boom Bust Tool, both players own top-five Boom scores on the slate.

Boom: Dejounte Murray: $10,100 DraftKings/$10,200 FanDuel

26.5% DraftKings Boom/22% FanDuel Boom

Hosting the Warriors, Murray is standing out as one of the best players to build around Tuesday. Since returning from a five-game absence due to health protocols in January, the point guard has been outstanding, contributing 54.3 DKFP per game across his last 14 starts, including nine efforts north of 50 DraftKings points. This season, Murray is averaging 1.4 DraftKings points per minute, behind a 26.5% usage rate and a 38.3% assist percentage, both of which are team-highs. While Golden State is the No.1 defense in the league in terms of efficiency for the season, they are on the second leg of a back-to-back and not having Green and Thompson obviously hurts.

Murray posted 53.5 DraftKings points against the Warriors back in December with Green in the lineup and is generating 51 DraftKings points per game in totals of at least 220 points this season.

Update: With the Warriors’ ruling out those six players listed above, Murray’s matchup obviously sees a large upgrade. The Spurs’ implied team total now ranks sixth on the slate (112.5 points), which is nearly a five point increase from their opening total. In the 12 home games Murray has played behind an implied team total of 110 points or greater this season, the point guard has been terrific with 54.2 DraftKings points per game.

Boom: Nicholas Claxton: $4,100 DraftKings/$4,100 FanDuel

24.7% DraftKings Boom/27.5% FanDuel Boom

LaMarcus Aldridge (ankle) will be unavailable tonight, opening the door for Claxton to see increased action as the Nets’ main center. In the nine contests he has been without Aldridge this season, Claxton has amassed 24 DraftKings points per game. Paul Millsap (personal) will also be missing tonight and Awesemo is projecting Claxton for 25.8 minutes against the Suns.

He is providing 0.93 DraftKings points per minute this season and while Phoenix ranks second in defensive efficiency, both the Nets and Suns rank in the top-10 in pace. As a result, this matchup’s total is the highest on the slate (230 points). In a sample size of 13 contests, Claxton has collected 26.5 DraftKings points per game when he has logged a minimum of 20 minutes this season, and the center is rating as a top-three value on the slate in Awesemo’s projections.
