NBA Daily Fantasy Projections & DFS Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel 2/2

On the schedule for Wednesday is a nine-game slate. Five of these contests carry totals over 220 points, so we can safely expect some huge fantasy scores on both DraftKings and FanDuel tonight. Below are some NBA daily fantasy options that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.

Boom: Cedi Osman: $4,600 DraftKings/$4,400 FanDuel

Ricky Rubio (knee) and Collin Sexton (knee) are done for the season, and the Cavs will also be without Darius Garland (back) tonight for the second straight contest. In this same situation Monday against the Pelicans, head coach J. B. Bickerstaff gave Osman the spot start at point guard, and the veteran delivered 27 DraftKings points. Osman finished with 37.6 minutes of work, which not only set a new season-high for the wing but was also the most playing time any Cavs’ player saw in the win by almost five minutes. When Sexton, Garland and Rubio have been off the floor this season, Osman’s usage and assist rates have increased 1.3 and 5.3 percentage points, respectively, in a sample size of 176 minutes. Given the result was a victory on Monday, Osman should remain Cleveland’s starting point guard tonight when it visits the hopeless Rockets. Plain and simple, Houston is currently the best matchup to attack in basketball. No defense ranks worse in efficiency than the Rockets this season and they also play at the third-fastest pace. Despite being down a leading scorer in Garland, the Cavs present the seventh-highest implied team total on the slate (112.25 points) and this tilt’s total is the sixth largest on the board (219.5 points).

At sub-$5,000 salaries on both DraftKings and FanDuel, exceeding five-times value should be an easy task for Osman and he is rating as the No.1 player on the slate in terms of Boom score for both sites in Awesemo’s Boom Bust Tool.

Boom: Luka Doncic: $11,600 DraftKings/$11,200 FanDuel

In his first start this season without both Kristaps Porzingis (knee) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (foot), Doncic did not disappoint, erupting for a triple-double worth 71 DraftKings points Sunday vs. the Magic. Both those starters will remain sidelined tonight, keeping Doncic in a godly role against the Thunder. In the 345 minutes he has played with Porzingis and Hardaway Jr. off the court this season, Doncic’s usage climbed 3.8 percentage points to a massive 39.5%. Furthermore, his assist rate has risen 2.2 percentage points to a whopping 49.2% and his rebound rate has also seen a 4.5 percentage point boost. These upgrades lift Doncic to an elite 1.7 DraftKings points per minute and tonight he will be on his home floor, where he has been nearly four DraftKings points per game better than when on the road over the last two seasons. On BetMGM, Doncic’s NBA player props are extremely encouraging, at 29.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 9.5 assists, which translate into 53.75 DraftKings points before defensive stats and site bonuses are credited.

Doncic is a strong bet for over 60 fantasy points tonight and is worth the high asking price on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Boom: Caris LeVert: $8,200 DraftKings/$7,600 FanDuel

LeVert is a sharp target for GPPs tonight. While his recent results have been subpar, he finds himself in a perfect get right situation against the Magic. First and foremost, the Pacers are extremely shorthanded right now. Domantas Sabonis (health protocols), Myles Turner (foot), Malcolm Brogdon (Achilles) and T.J. McConnell (wrist) have all been ruled out. LeVert will start at point guard tonight and in the 173 minutes he has played with those four players off the court over the last two seasons, the former Net has produced 1.2 DraftKings points per minute, mostly attributed to his assist rate skyrocketing nine percentage points.

This Magic defense LeVert is facing ranks 21st in efficiency and even with the Pacers down many key pieces, they carry the second-highest implied team total on the slate (115 points). This contest’s total is also the second-largest of the night (226.5 points) and Indiana is only a 3.5-point favorite. LeVert’s ceiling is near 50 fantasy points in Awesemo’s Boom Bust Tool and given the size of the slate, he should not be aggressively owned in large tournaments.

Boom: Malik Monk: $5,300 DraftKings/$6,600 FanDuel

LeBron James (doubtful, knee) is expected to remain sidelined tonight and with the superstar absent Sunday, Monk got the spot start and erupted for a season-best 57.5 DraftKings points against the Hawks. He is now contributing 37 DraftKings points in 33 minutes per game with a 23.4% usage rate for the last four occasions he has been available with James inactive. Monk provides 0.9 DraftKings points per minute with James off the floor this season and should receive nothing less than 30 minutes tonight against the Blazers, who rank second to last in defensive efficiency. Even with James on the shelf, the Lakers boast the fifth-highest implied team total on the slate (113.5 points) and this matchup’s total is also the third-largest on the board (223.5 points).

In the 16 contests Monk has seen at least 30 minutes this season, he has provided 33.3 DraftKings points per game and the guard brings much better upside than his modest $5,300 salary on DraftKings suggests. As for FanDuel, Monk’s $6,600 price tag is more appropriate, but Awesemo is projecting him to come with essentially no ownership, making him a terrific gamble in GPPs.
