He is due for some positive regression, and tonight is a perfect spot for Harden to get back on track. Hosting the Wizards, the Nets have the highest implied team total on the slate (118.25 points), and this game’s total is the third highest of the night (229.5). The Wizards rank seventh in pace, and since the start of the last season Harden has averaged 59.1 DraftKings points per game in totals of at least 225 points. Harden is the best value on DraftKings among players priced above $8,000 tonight, and Harden also boasts a top three Boom rating on the slate, per Awesemo’s Boom Bust Tool.
Boom: Nickeil Alexander-Walker: $6,700 DraftKings/$6,100 FanDuel | 23.6% DraftKings Boom/30% FanDuel Boom
Alexander-Walker is vastly underpriced on both sites for his current role with the Pelicans. With Zion Williamson (foot) on the shelf, Alexander-Walker ranks second on the Pelicans in both usage (24.5%) and minutes per game (33.6). Alexander-Walker averages 32.8 DraftKings points per game in the 13 games he has played without Williamson since the start of last season. Tonight he will be going against a Minnesota team that ranks fifth in pace. This matchup’s total is the fourth largest on the slate (226.5), and this game is expected to stay competitive throughout, with Minnesota only favored by 5.5 points. Alexander-Walker should have no issues out-producing his modest price tags in this strong environment, and he is currently slated for single-digit ownership on DraftKings.
Boom: Franz Wagner: $4,400 DraftKings/$4,100 FanDuel | 39.1% DraftKings Boom/46.9% FanDuel Boom
As the Magic’s starting small forward, Wagner has seen an immense opportunity. For Orlando’s first three games of the season, they have been blown out twice and then beat the Knicks by six points yesterday. Regardless of if the game has been close or not, Wagner has logged at least 32 minutes in each of these three games, resulting in 24.4 DraftKings points per game. He leads the Magic in playing time, and Awesemo projects him forecasted for 34 minutes tonight against the Heat. This matchup is not ideal, with Miami ranking second in defensive efficiency, but Wagner is too cheap for his expected volume. He averages 0.71 DraftKings points per minute and is the strongest point-per-dollar value on the board on both DraftKings and FanDuel.
Bust: D’Angelo Russell: $7,300 DraftKings/$7,400 FanDuel | 47.8% DraftKings Bust/55.6% FanDuel Bust
Russell is a tough sell at his current price points. This past Saturday he faced the same Pelicans defense he will meet tonight and put up a dud, finishing with only 14.75 DraftKings points. Russell has now logged less than 30 minutes in each of the Timberwolves’ first two games, is shooting a poor 36% from the field and is averaging five turnovers a night. At a slightly higher cost, Anthony Edwards is a much better way to attack the Timberwolves and their 116-point implied team total. Edwards has over seven more minutes a game than Russell this season and has provided at least 40 DraftKings points in eight of his last 10 starts.
